Poor Agnew, I knew he wouldn't win much like Rudd on FNF, but hopefully they both bounce back stronger. Both have WEAK corner men, but anywho... let's look at Sergey Kovalev's options at 175...

-Bernard Hopkins/Adonis Stevenson seem to be on a collision course so they're off the table. :to:
-Andrez Fonfara could make a name for himself in a major way if he puts on a good showing against Superman giving Kovalev an option...... that's a big "if" but I'm throwing it out there anyway :heh:
-Beibut Shumenov is in the same boat as Fonfara, only he's signed to Golden Boy, so he's not a realistic future opponent :ld:
-Jean Pascal... his last bout was televised on HBO, Roy his side trainer is a HBO guy, seems like a easy match to make, promoters be damned. Kathy Duva needs to stop crying, she's talking Kovalev out of future bouts with her childish antics. Maybe she forgot, but this is boxing, DEAL with it. :what:
-Chad Dawson..... I honestly do not like this bout for either man, Chad coming off two consecutive KOs wouldn't do much for Kovalev's stock
-Tavoris Cloud......... see above (1 decision, 1 stoppage) :scusthov:
-Lucian Bute......... I believe he's under a new trainer, or looking for one, so there's a great chance he doesn't face a bruiser like Kovalev his first fight after a loss under new training :aicmon:
-Braehmer/Enzo Macc winner.......... I love the idea of a unification, no promoter beef in the way, it would really just come down to where and what networks would pay for it :ehh:
-Blake Capallero..... saw him win a one-sided decision on FNF, if all else fails, he's undefeated, Lou Dibella promoted, it's a match that can relistically be made if all else fails. :manny:
-Isaac Chilemba..... recently schooled Grachev in entertaining fashion, stylistically, a slick fighter who could give Kovalev problems. A Main Events fighter, sounds like a VERY easy fight to make. :obama:
-Thomas Williams Jr........ fighting on FNF at the end of April, his one round "round of the year" with Cornelius White was exciting but, he's shaky at the moment :patrice:
-Eleider Alvarez.......... First three times I had seen him I saw promise and was impressed. Looked very sluggish and lethargic in his last bout. He's big, fast and strong, but a bit sloppy as the rounds wear on. A final option at best :stopitslime:

I also wouldn't count out 168 fighters Ward, Froch and Chavez as potential opponents moving up (either for good, or just to attempt to pick up a belt in another weight class) :smugdraper:

As far as Karim Mayfield is concerned, he's so unpolished it's crazy. I'd just try to cash him out and make exciting fights with him cause I honestly believe he hit his ceiling with beating Herrera. Dulorme on the other hand looked OK, against Ruslan though............. Unless Rios gets the fight, I say do it, don't pass up a chance at greatness :smugbiden:

Behind You
Ok then, who tf has Andrzej Fonfera fought? sounds like you would rather see Stevenson fight this Polish no-hoper instead of someone with a pulse like Kovalev. I love the first thing people say is "who have they fought, etc, etc? If you keep switching networks, and no one will sign contracts to fight the guy, how is he suppose to get big fights? What am I missing?
After the 2013 that Stevenson had dudes are questioning his next opponent when all Kovalev has done his whole career is fight dudes of Fonfera's caliber? WTF?
And Stevenson had the option of shopping his next fight to whoever would be the highest bidder, Showtime offered a better deal than HBO and instead of matching it HBO goes the cheap butch route.
This is a business and Stevenson would have been insane to take lesser money to fight Kovalev on HBO when he is going to make more fighting on Showtime plus get the added bonus of a marquee match up against Hopkins.
So if you want to be mad at anybody for this Kovalev/Stevenson fight not happening you should be mad at HBO who are now the 2nd place boxing network but still operating like they are the only game in town.

Damn that's cold.

Personally I think Karim's advantage was being wild and unorthodox, working with Virgil may have made him more traditional and predictable, at this level he reminds me of Sakio Bika
yeah i dont know what happened to your man out there...he looked underconditioned but he didnt look like he usually fights..virgil not really tightening up these fighter's styles too well...he's trying to turn every fighter he touches into ward.....but dulorme didnt really impress :manny:
