Define "gate keeper"........I'll give my thoughts on your article, but I see this word used a lot and before I say anything I'd like your individual input on its definition.
someone who earned their title by fighting a less talented fighter because the title was vacated or a person who beat a less talented fighter who earned it the title by the way first way I mentioned.

of course. i told Sergio he was a boring fighter and he wasn't trippin
Sergio is a nice guy...Curtis is from Brownsville. Brownsville doesn't produce nice guys, I hope you don't tell him GGG is gonna knock him out :heh: I do hope you ask him about his quality of opposition though........

Yawn, here is the "barbershop", we talk turkey here. What she, or any other interviewer does, is a job. A job requires professionalism not found in the barbershop, therefore certain questions and remarks stay.........in the barbershop.

I don't recommend that anyone disrespect these guys regardless of their decision making skills. It's not a fear thing, it's a respect thing.

@SuikodenII I was hoping to lead the poster's interview into a place where things would get explosive but reading back this poster supposedly has a vagina :patrice:

If true I would like to welcome the lady and :salute:her for getting an interview that I'm sure she'll post here first :mjpls:

2 weeks until Thompson vs Pulev but more importantly 27 days until the return of JCC Jr :blessed:

I see.

Personally I think of a gate keeper as being someone on the outskirts of the top 10-15 fighters of a particular weight class. Not championship level, not a legit contender at the moment, but on the outside looking in, and could be seen as a measuring to guys on their level possibly ready to rise up, guys below them deserving recognition or guys above them who may be overrated. Off the top of the dome I'd take guys like Andy Lee, Curtis Stevens and Gabriel Rosado (at least at middleweight, at 154 he's a legit contender) as gatekeepers. The middleweight division is sort of weak in my honest opinion but there is talent.

I can't see a World title holder and top 5 guy in a weight class as a "gate-keeper", which is why I needed your input before answering, thank you for the clarification.

Daniel Geale does not produce many knockouts yet is universally considered a top 3 middleweight. KO's are impressive but there should still be some respect for guys who aren't able to stop their opponents. GGG is arguably the p4p hardest hitting sum-bytch in boxing period, not sure anyone's power measures up, but that's an assumption based on his recent run of KO's. Kid Chocolate on the other hand wasn't able to stop 2 of his last 3...

-Winky Wright......never been stopped, fought guys like Vargas, Trinidad, Jermain Taylor, JC Vasquez and still see the 12th round. Some of these fights he took a beat down, even knockdowns, but Wright is a TOUGH b*stard, maybe a future Hall-of-Famer. Chocolate was able to drop him, and maybe if he were more active possibly stop him, Winky was way way WAAAAAAAY past it at this time.

-Hassan N'Dam......sure, Chocolate won wide, but those knockdowns really won him that fight. N'Dam is a crafty fighter, tough as hell, and a lot of heart to be knocked down 6 times and still win a considerable amount of rounds. He has a talented left hand and can scrap when needed even though he's mostly an outside fighter. A Champion at the time who was largely unknown thanks to his location and hard to spell/remember name.

With 21 knockouts in 29 wins Kid Chocolate is probably the 2nd-3rd hardest hitting Middleweight in the world. Martinez, Lemeiux and Lee are considerably heavy handed as well when they let their shots go. His boxing skills could use some work but he's gotten the job done thus far to earn him a top 5 ranking at middleweight. He's a champion who fights at a championship level.

B-Hop sonned Broner there something fierce sorry @Newzz .

He just called Adrien Broner "The New Face Of Boxing Whether People Like It Or Not" in this interview though:yeshrug:

He thinks Adrien Broner is the only person that could challenge Floyd Mayweather

He thinks he's a "superstar and it's official"

So, I can understand the criticism of B-Hop being that he's a legend in the boxing industry and also thinks highly of AB's talent. He doesnt want him to squander it, like I dont, so i feel him.

Ahmet Öner, promoter of heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis, has called for a clash between his fighter and Deontay Wilder after Wilder’s spectacular KO against Sergey Liakhovich on Friday night.

“I don’t want to take anything away from Wilder. 29 wins and 29 KOs certainly speaks for a good build-up and a good job in matchmaking. But I don’t see Wilder as the next big thing – at least not until he fought a real opponent. I suggest for Wilder to step up and face my Olympic gold medalist and former world title challenger Odlanier Solis. Wilder may be the best US heavyweight but he surely isn’t the best in America. Solis is the best Latino heavyweight and one of the best fighters in the world. I don’t think Wilder and his handlers will accept a fight against Solis but I’m sure that Showtime would love it and do the fight. I did business with Golden Boy in the past. I have no problems with them. Richard, let’s get it on. Wilder vs. Solis – U.S. power vs. Latino power – the winner gets Klitschko!”

$300,000 total purse I'm assuming, GGG taking the bulk...........

Frauds get exposed everyday, B.

Woofers are just that, selling tickets, cause in boxing, as B-Hop said best......promoters and networks are just an excuse, if a fighter REALLY wants to fight another, he'll make it happen.

Gabriel Rosado shot down a 55K offer to fight Kid Chocolate. He made more money in previous bouts, but so what?

He lost to GGG pretty bad and couldn't stop the over matched J'eon Love. He's much better off at 154.

You NEVER turn down a top tier fighter and you NEVER turn down a World Championship opportunity. These boys are feeling themselves, and have accomplished ZERO. Dunning-Kruger effect :wow:

Somebody get Hassan N'Dam (for GGG), Martin Murray, Felix Sturm, Marco Antonio Rubio, Sam Soliman, Matthew Macklin (for Kid Choc) on the phone. fukk these divas.

I remember when Zab made a total of $200k for TWO fights with Cory Spinks while Spinks made a total of $2m for those fights! Thats 100k less than Stevens would get for one fight with GGG. I certainly am not knocking Stevens at all. Just proving your point that you never turn down a World Championship opportunity. Zab took short money twice...but it enabled him to make a few million. He wouldve made like $4 mil against Floyd had he not lost to Baldomir but still earned over $1 mil...all because he took short money against Spinks. So while its Stevens life and he has to live with the decisions of his team....you are 100% correct about these guys feeling themselves. Even if Stevens loses and he puts up a good fight...that could set him up for another title shot. Guys be trying to cash out at first opportunity...and a lot of time that shyt backfires.
