Berto has proven to be slightly overrated after he started taking on decent competition. It says something that he has never beaten an elite fighter in their prime and here he is almost 30 years old. He had an easy run to a title that allowed him to be called champion but he has proven that he is just a very good fighter and not one of the best of the best. And it's a shame because he had all the tools to be a pound for pound best. But it seems like it's been one setback after another. From the cancellation of the Mosley fight to losing to Ortiz to testing positive for steroids. It's just been one thing after another that kept Andre from reaching his potential.

Great card by Showtime. I was entertained from Showtime Extreme all the way through the main fight.
- I picked Thurman by late KO because I thought the Zaveck fight was good in teaching him to pace and not panic when the KO doesn't come early. He did just that and adjusted well.
- Rocky is Japanese and his name is Nihito Arakawa. That was all will. I'm still worried about his health and I hope he takes the rest of the year off. Figueroa is going to make for some great fights. Enjoy him because he won't be around long.
- No slander to Berto. The shoulder was just one of many problems we saw from him tonight (still trying that horrid shoulder roll defense, bad balance, unsure offense etc.), but he pushed quitting out of his mind and went out on his shield.
- This better stop name fighters going to Virgil Hunter thinking he can give them new life ala Manny Steward. Khan and Berto have looked worse under him.

The thing about Berto is that I was never high on him. When your not high on a guy that has alot of hype, you just want to be proven right. I've already been proven right about him. I'm done with that. I'm not trying to see dude getting worked like that. We already know he will continue with his career. Prime C-level, tough guys that can take a punch will give him problems. These guys don't have to be exceptionally talented.
If the Alexander fight falls through he could be a Khan opponent or they could match him against Josesito Lopez
Berto's defense is either a flawed shoulder roll where he doesn't move his head or stand still and get hit to throw a hook he'll miss
I think he would beat khan too at this point. Julio Diaz gave him enough trouble.

berto is done..thurman is ready for a big name but he showed some technical ability flaws..but the fight of the night is omar figueroa vs nihito arakawa..this is the FOTY candidate and it was jaw droppingly violent
