Maidana would for sure be the hardest puncher AB has fought...but i think his power is overrated....he couldn't beat Khan, never hurt Devon, couldn't ko Morales

Plus he gets hurt a lot I can see Broner stopping him

first things first...you have to be able to land to use your power. Maidana is slow. the reason why Paulie was a decent fight is because Paulie has lighting fast hands...which were great against a fast fighter. Maidana doesnt appear to have the craft to deal with an athlete like Broner with boxing skills. going life and death with Josesito doesnt bode well against a fast fighter with power and good defense.

Tomorrow in New York City, Golden Boy Promotions will announce details of their new Monday night boxing series appearing on FOX Sports 1, which is replacing Fox’s Speed channel in mid-August. The deal consists of 24 live Monday Night telecasts to take place over the next year across the country. The first show will take place on August 19 at the 2,100-seat Best Buy Theater in Times Square with middleweight contender Danny “Miracle Man” Jacobs (25-1, 22 KOs) against former world title challenger Giovanni Lorenzo (32-5, 24 KOs) in the featured attraction.
:salute:

The WBO has stripped the junior middleweight title from injured champion Zaurbek Baysangurov and declared the title vacant after Baysangurov was unable to make his mandatory defense against Demetrius Andrade due to back problems. Andrade will now fight for the vacant title against a contender to be named with date/venue to be named. Baysangurov will be made the #1 contender and will be approved to challenge the winner of Andrade-TBA within 180 days. Andrade could end up facing Vanes Martirosyan for the title on the November 23 card in Macau headlined by Manny Pacquiao vs. Brandon Rios.
:ohhh:

After the pullout of Alexander Dimitrenko against IBF #1 rated heavyweight Kubrat “The Cobra” Pulev last week, Sauerland Event was quick to announce “we have an opponent now sorted and all to be revealed very shortly.” Two sources have indicated that the opponent could be #4 Tony “The Tiger” Thompson. One source indicated that both have agreed to terms and Sauerland will announce the fight shortly. IBF Championships Chairman Lindsey Tucker told Fightnews.com that the IBF has not yet approved any fight for Pulev, so there is still work to be done if this is to be an IBF eliminator. The match could land either August 24 in Schwerin (on the Braehmer-Abatangelo card) or on September 14 in Stuttgart (on the Huck-Arslan II card).
:blessed:

Likewise...and I am a fan of boxers, but if it looks as if it likes passion or if they are not looking like they are having fun in there....I dont fukk with it. I saw Scott a couple of times and was never interested in seeing him again. Dominic Guinn looked the same way in all of his losses. Like he was just there by circumstance.

Oh snap, I forgot about Guinn and his lack luster ass self.. An Scott makes Dawson look like Pryor lol. Dude has no type of commanding presence in the ring. Just shows up to box on the back foot and fight on cruise control.

speaking of guinn..isn't dude a replacement opponent for adamek in a couple of weeks?...I actually thought guinn would pan out but one of the most lackadaisical fighters ever and I can't figure out why

I think I can offer a good guess as to why, and Guinn mentioned it himself in a way. Guinn was such a good amateur...but he didnt seem to have the passion unless he was in fear of his opponent. Like he had to kinda have a physically imposing threat to him..even if they werent very skillful. He beat Grant and Dokiwari with no problems but when he faced heavyweights his size or smaller they just outfought him. Like Barrett and Liakhovich. Barrett is smallish and Sergei didnt really have that muscular look. when he lost those fights, it seemed as if his confidence level dropped, then what was left....Toney just obliterated. When he drew with Ahunanya I knew it was a wrap for him even getting a decent title shot. Chambers was talkin shyt to him the whole fight and beating his ass. It was a spirited performance but Guinn never had any "beast" in him.

I'm excited but I don't have my hopes up. I remember being similarly excited for the Versus series (which ended up flopping badly) and for NBCSN (which is like one step up from FNF but has done a great job building up fighters). I'm guessing FOX has an ever bigger budget looking at Jacobs/Lorenzo which is pretty good.

I know AB is a better boxer and athlete. But we've never really seen him deal with legit power like Maidanas. Granted MM isn't going to be raining flush overhand rights all night (if they fight) but he will connect with some hard shots imo
