punisher beats a very prime, dangerous, and near peaking margarito only to lose to carlos quintana...and it was a legit loss...quintana boxed him up..shyt had me tight watching being a fan of the punisher :francis:

I always thought he was drained from the weigh in for the Quintana match, he just seemed so lethargic and sluggish in that fight? Like his reflexes were a level below?

Punisher maybe my favourite boxer of all time. I was the same size and build (also left handed) when I started out, so I wanted to be him.

Years later I got in a bike accident just like the Punisher. It fukked up my head kinda bad.

2:48 To this day I still use this attitude to injury that I learnt from his interview with Gray.:salute:

That shyt was borderline unforgivable. Scott and Deas basically put all of that on Breland and the cotdamn ring entry attire. Nevermind the nikka had blood coming out of his ear.
I agree.

Adversity brings out the best and worst in people, and in that case they threw it all on Breland. Foul. Breland is/was smart enough to know that an average boxer with a gift from the gods (that right hand) needs to work to their strengths at that stage of their career, you can't re mould something thats concrete, so you work to the strengths.

I guess they saw it different? :francis:

like @theflyest sometimes i blame it on that stupid haircut he rocked that night :francis:...might have been a hard cut but its quintana though :heh:..that was a whole setback that he at least got a chance to avenge before he moved up

the punisher was one of my favorites...that man was a true unicorn...shyt i remember i put myself through a ridiculous routine when i was training...drills and crazy calisthenics...to try to be a heavyweight version of him...im 6'3 1/2" so i had the height but man it was a bytch trying to get to that level of conditioning to throw crazy volume :russ:..and i was walking around at like 225 brolic at the time so i had to cut size to do that..memories

What makes it worse it's they got mad at him for tryna save the man's life. At that point, they were just looking for to take the blame.

I’m telling you it never fails. When Paul came out there looking like that against Quintana, I had a bad feeling. Despite that, I still didn’t think Quintana could do anything with Paul, however I was wrong.

The second fight, Paul came to the ring looking how he normally does and took care of business.

There is a low key correlation between a silly hairstyle and performance. I wish I would have started tracking this. How many times have we seen a fighter come out to the ring in a marquee fight and suddenly change his hairstyle up and then proceed to perform like shyt?

Haha, I was the same, one of my guys was too. Punisher's punch output belied his weight class and size, definitely a unicorn as you said, and particularly up until that era. I'm sure there's others (Margarito even comes to mind), but Paul had a particular style and intensity with it.

You remember there was that low quality, early YouTube type video of Williams doing that hand walking down stairs shyt and getting med balls thrown at him? I bought in to all of that. :lolbron: Had my dumb ass concentrating on that when I should have just been putting in more bag, running and ring work.

This shyt is so staged :mjlol:

Let's hope the in-ring fights equals this energy.

Problem is, MOST boxing promos are like this through various social media channels. It make it seem like to restrained pitbulls barking at each other. Fans, especially new ones, expect boxers to tear into each other from the opening bell.
