What expectations did you have? You thought Devon was going to win that fight or something?
This actually aligns more with the way he moves anyway.You can nitpick past draws of the sport like Oscar, Mayweather, and Manny, but I never felt those guys had an underwhelming career like I do with Canelo.
When Canelo had that run of Trout/Mayweather/Lara, I was like here’s a guy that conducting himself like one of the best draws in boxing. Then this dude turns around and gives us fights with Khan, Liam Neeson, and Chavez Jr.
His opponent selection is typically underwhelming and when it is a somewhat interesting opponent, the timing of the fight is way off. Canelo is the type to jump on a Benvidez fight if he has two years of inactivity on a cocaine binge fukking hookers.

I know Floyd dikk riders aren't complaining about cherry picking 
Fought Pacquiao after he had already been knocked out by marquez. Fought cotto after he had already been knocked out by Pacquiao. Fought Shane at 38 on a 16 month layoff. Fought Marquez coming up two weight divisions then didn't even bother to make the catchweight. Fought trash ass Robert Guerrero when nobody wanted it or even asked for it. Fought a mid Marcos maidana only because he beat an even more mid Adrien broner. Then damn near lost to him so he had to fight him again
.....then to top it all off, he got his 50-0 record by beating an MMA fighter with zero amateur fights 
And let's not even talk about him using an illegal IV drip before the Manny fight
....over 15x the legal limit. Then got a shady ass exemption 2 weeks after the fight. The main reason IV drips are banned before competition is because they mask the use of certain substances

We forget these guys are kids. Shakur is 26 years old........and a 26 year old just isn't mature as a 26 year old in the 80s or 90s.

To be fair, he fought Mosely directly after he beat Antonio Margarito and Mosley called him out. Mosely was supposed to fight Berto but he backed out due to the earthquake in Haiti. That wasn't a bad fight to make happen IMO because I remember lots of people wanting to see it........That was the first boxing match I ever attended in Vegas.

You would think that but working in entertainment or being an athlete leaves you in extended adolesence. Look at Zion and all of these NBA players getting finessed by chicks.
When you're a boxer, you essentially give up your entire life for the sport.......so how can he grow at the same rate as the average person?
