Random but where is Rolly Romero??
allegedly "injured"

rolly and ellerbe thought he would win that belt vs barroso and try to make a fight with ryan garcia next
but the wba let him know, even before he was gifted that title, that the winner had to fight ohara davies
rolly was talking shyt talmbout no one knew who davies was and how davies was a fun killer
davies signs to golden boy and gets oscar's backing
rolly and the wba get warned about potential legal action
rolly claims hes injured
wba told rolly to provide proof of injury which took him some time
wba rules that davies fights barroso for the title..i think interim then rolly has to face the winner...if rolly refuses then the winner becomes full wba 140 champ

rolly is a coward because everyone sees that his boxing skills are struggle and hes a marked man

Well gaaaah dayum. I knew he would try to hold the belt hostage after he won it by going on a fighting bums tour, but the WBA stepped in and restored that feeling :ohlawd:

I haven’t kept up with Davies since he lost a few years ago in that pathetic display vs Taylor (may be overstating it lol)

I wonder if he still fights the same way

Bud trying to start a revolution :wow:

I'd like to see Bud do something. Oscar had his chance and blew it. He's too busy getting high and doing goofy shyt.

Fighters should get paid as much as possible, but also produce great fights. If not, the fans will tune out. Those guaranteed paydays only benefit a select few, but if fans are not part of the equation (see Mayweather's last fight vs Berto) then the money will go to MMA and ball sports :dame:

Generally I agree with Bud but I also think the specific thing that triggered the reaction - Showtime getting out of sports - has nothing to do with boxing but rather a wider trend.

Also, boxing’s popularity didn’t take a hit in recent years. It isn’t as popular as in the 50s ofc and probably never will be but polls in recent years showed that boxing gained popularity in recent years not lost.

With that said efforts to make this sport more meritocratic and transparent as opposed to corrupted and confusing are always welcome.
Let’s say I wouldn’t shed a tear for the belt organizations if they would be replaced by one governing body that could be held responsible for keeping their rules and would generally have to operate a lot more transparent.
The system of mutual favors (corruption) should be erased in favor of meritocracy.
