most violent and brutal heavyweight title fight of all time
RIP to both legends
Canelo's year consisted of John Ryder and Jermell Charlo.
and people get mad at me for saying his opponent selection is underwhelming
Hopefully we get better opponents next year

him too. You're thinking of Bernard Hopkins
He never planned to come back down and kinda got stuck between a rock and a hard place when the Tyson fight fell thru.
He was never the same after the first Tarver fight. Never got his legs back.
Advertisement. Boxing is one of those things that people just have to see in action in order to get hooked. Especially with women.
I see it myself all the time. Women boxing fans are an untapped market in America.
I teach boxing at random parks and when we really cooking, people will come up and watch and ask questions, talk about random upcoming fights. This happens more often during months where there is a lot of quality boxing on tv (not just ppv, but showtime and espn)
Last Monday I was training somebody at a LA fitness and this random 18 yr old asked if my guy could beat Benevidez. I was shocked he knew who that was.
I think if promoters did a contender type series that focused on young prospects or serious influencer boxers that was streamed somewhere, the sport would grow even more.
A dope scripted boxing series would do wonders as well, Not to mention we're overdue for a boxing game too. As big as this year is, the sport would grow even bigger if aforementioned shyt happened.
