Honestly trying to remember a time ppl held PBC accountable for anything, maybe them charging PPV for shyt fights like Ruiz vs Ortiz but that's about it. Even blatant ducking by dudes like Cruz and Tank and blatant in house politics got swept under the rug by the stans

i honestly cant think of a time and you know ill know :russ:

. Same nikkas that was totally fine watching an undefeated 3 div champion get offered $0 guarantee with only 35% back end for undisputed
remember when Thurman was excused for not crossing the street cause Arum only offered him $2mil guaranteed. That was characterized as a LOWBALL OFFER and TR was blamed for not doing enough to get a good fight made. PBC won't even offer a guarantee for a fight they will completely control promotion wise and is guaranteed to be Spence highest selling PPV ever. Make it make sense

Jake Paul and his promotions team are launching a new boxing series called Most Valuable Prospects that will highlight top up-and-coming fighters.

The series will begin with a card on May 26 in Orlando, Florida, and it will be headlined by rising star Ashton Sylve, officials told ESPN on Thursday. There will be four cards this year, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and BoxLab Promotions and distributed by DAZN.

An official announcement is expected later Thursday.

Sylve, ESPN Ringside's 2022 prospect of the year who signed with MVP, will take on former U.S. national amateur champion Angel Rebollar in an eight-round lightweight fight. Sylve, who is 8-0 with eight knockouts, and Rebollar are both 19 years old.

Paul and all-time great women's boxer Amanda Serrano, another MVP-signed fighter, will be in attendance at the event.

"Having joined the boxing community in my 20s, I came to realize most professional athletes start training in the ring from the time they can walk," Paul said in a statement. "It's incredibly important to me and my team that we offer a platform and the tools necessary to help these young boxers achieve the success they've been working towards since they were kids.

"I was lucky enough to have a solid foundation when I entered boxing because of the people supporting me, and our goal with Most Valuable Prospects is to give others the same chance, on a global stage."

Paul, 26, is scheduled to fight former UFC star Nate Diaz in a boxing match Aug. 5 in Dallas.

Paul gained fame from YouTube and has parlayed that into a very successful and lucrative boxing career, which includes wins over MMA greats like Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley. Paul is coming off his first loss, against Tommy Fury via split decision in February. He has also teased making a debut in MMA in the near future and has become an equity partner in PFL.

The start of Most Valuable Prospects underscores the fact that Paul is further entrenching himself in boxing and combat sports.

"We have a wide array of athletes within the MVP family and our unique ability to market and promote them as individuals proves how different our company truly is," MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement. "We have the ability to nurture boxing careers no matter what stage they are in, and our goal with this series is to identify and elevate the next generation of boxing icons.

"We want to help build the future of the sport and believe there is immeasurable potential out there."

Liam Paro-Arnold Barboza: Matchroom Outbids Top Rank, Secures Rights To WBO Title Eliminator

Matchroom Boxing finally claimed victory in a purse bid hearing.
BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the UK-based promotional outfit secured the rights to the Liam Paro-Arnold Barboza WBO junior welterweight title eliminator. Matchroom submitted $303,000, outpacing Top Rank ($271,000) by more than $30,000 during Thursday’s purse bid hearing conducted via Zoom from WBO headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
An ordered title eliminator between unbeaten contenders is now available to the highest bidder.
“Delighted to confirm we have won the purse bid for Liam Paro vs Arnold Barboza Jr, Final Eliminator for the WBO World Super Lightweight Title to become mandatory challenger to the winner of #TaylorLopez,” Matchroom declared via social media following the session. “Date and venue to follow shortly.”
The proposed dates for the bout are June 17 in Las Vegas and July 15 in Detroit, Michigan. The latter date would presumably include the return of undisputed junior lightweight queen Alycia Baumgardner.
Matchroom participated in the bid on behalf of Paro, while Top Rank sought to secure rights as Barboza’s promoter. The winner will become the mandatory challenger to the WBO 140-pound crown held by Scotland’s Josh Taylor (19-0, 13KOs), who next defends versus former unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez (18-1, 12KOs) on June 10 in New York City.
The original terms of the purse bid called for a 50-50 split, to be adjusted by ten percent if the fight took place in the home country of either boxer. However, Matchroom Boxing’s choice as the lead promoter to stage the fight in the U.S. should not impact Barboza’s entitled share.
Barboza hails from the greater Los Angeles area, while Paro fights out of Brisbane, Australia but regularly trains in Las Vegas.
Paro (23-0, 14KOs) previously commanded the top spot in the WBO 140-pound rankings but was never formally identified as the mandatory challenger. The 26-year-old Brisbane southpaw advanced to the top after a ten-round win over Yomar Alamo in their December 2021 battle of unbeaten young contenders.
His lone bout of 2022 was in an all-Oz clash with undefeated Brock Jarvis, which launched Matchroom’s DAZN debut in the Australian market. Paro made an emphatic statement in a sensational first-round knockout of his countryman. Paro entered 2023 with the intention of eventually challenging for a major title. However, he was forced to withdraw from a March 11 clash with England’s Robbie Davies Jr. after suffering a facial fracture during training camp.
Barboza (28-0, 10KOs) is coming off ten-round points win over former two-division titlist Jose Pedraza on February 3 in Glendale, Arizona. The fight was his first following a July 15 victory over then-unbeaten Danielito Zorrilla. His time spent in between—and even prior to the Zorrilla fight—was spent calling out any and every relevant 140-pound titlist and contender, only for everyone to largely ignore his challenge.
Those days are over for Barboza, who now has a relevant fight ahead of him. It will just come on another promoter’s dime.

Nah fam.
Wait til these nikkas have unified 3 divisions and stayed top 5 on the p4p lists for 4 years.

Just imagine if they would have did all that first. :ohlawd:

Lmaooo. And the thing is, we aren’t saying belts DONT matter, it’s just that some fighters AND fans don’t value it as much as they use to. Charlo is undisputed at 154, but has his overall profile risen because of it?

We just recognize that there is more to just being a belt holder if you want to do numbers and move the needle
