from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
:snoop: goofy nikkas in here spent the last 5 years defending Side of the street duck tactics and "easy roads".. spent the last 10 years unable to make up your minds whether mandatories matters.. Now all of a sudden belts don't matter :dead: where was this energy when Crawford left TR back on 2021 and the guy everyone wanted to see him fight opted to face a Ugas?? How is it that Ryan and Tank can get made while neither fighter had to sign to the others promotional company.. and both fighters got a guaranteed purse and a cut of the back end??

Because you aren't the target audience they are going for Pat, we keep trying to explain that to you. :heh:

Casuals keep the lights on, not hardcores. It doesn't matter if there have been more competitive fights than this one(which to all of us except @Agent Mulder it was obvious what was gonna happen once they actually fought we been knew Ryan wasn't on Tanks level) this one had the most buzz. You gotta stop thinking so close minded and realize this is a new era, winning belts in 4 or 5 weight classes or being unified/undisputed isn't that big of a deal to the new fans who watch the sport. They just wanna see fights that they actually want to see, not who they are TOLD they should want to see.
This is something I was explaining on a YouTube stream. Belts were a means of marketing to the public. This person is the champion so you should pay to see him. Days are done. With the numbers coming in, it shows that people will gladly pay if it’s a product they want to see. That’s why I stand on Haney-Stevenson got to fight to build their names up because they don’t have the fan-friendly styles like Ryan Garcia. It is what it is.

The public will push for Tank v winner of them 2 but it isn’t fair to Tank to have to go through a murderer’s row and fight both of them. Tank will likely do some time (at most 90 days) and the storyline for that being built in will be huge. This is prizefighting, not the Olympics.

all i know is i cant wait for this string of "big fights" that are going to be made because of ryan vs tank...both short term and long term futures regarding boxing
Here’s where the issue and disconnect will lie. What you may consider a “big” fight may not be a “big” fight to casual public. Espinoza and Hearns said as much in regards to Spence-Crawford.

i miss the days when CT used to get these types of fights

one thing about the post title victories of foreman is how many close ass fights he had...and some of them werent pretty

speaking of legit dry years...2014 was one of them esp when this was the best fight of the year...hell of a fight too

youre talking to the wrong person..i dont care about spence vs crawford..ive washed my hands of that...they will fight when they want to...if ppl want to tell me that ryan vs tank is the catalyst for change in boxing then thats the stance im going to take ppl to task on...we will see what it looks like by the end of 2023 :heh:
