If they had stopped after 3, I would have that as the best trilogy ever for consistent action and close competition. All 3 fights were excellent.

2 of the top 3 wins are James Toney and John Ruiz. The 3rd? Maybe beating Bernard Hopkins? Both guys were still relatively green. Otherwise it would easily by one of the top. Gutting out a tough win over Antonio Tarver in the first fight? Virgil Hill body shot?

I thought him at his peak might have been Bryant Brannon. Not one of his best wins due to opposition level, but just in terms of him at his best. It was like his version of Muhammad Ali-Cleveland Williams.
To me, Roy at his absolute physical peak to was around Merqui Sosa & Reggie Johnson (with Johnson being another very good win because he damn near beat Tarver).

That right hand he handed off the ropes against Sosa was one of the fastest shots I've ever seen; including the 2 piece he dropped Reggie Johnson with. It'll be a long time till another athlete like Roy comes around

the 4th fight was one of the few times i couldnt even be a bloodthirsty ghoul even if i wanted...it was downright criminal..marquez just happened to be slightly less finished than vazquez, who was completely finished..then marquez after would proceed to be knocked out by anybody considered a live body..while vazquez lost an eye...vicious fights man

bhop doesnt complain about losing that first fight...he knows he got schooled with one hand...toney, hill...he had some other good wins like reggie johnson, merqui sosa, tarver of course, montell griffin, old mike mccallum...id replace bryant brannon with thomas tate....tate is the only guy to go 12 with julian jackson and roy put him out in 2...only time he was stopped
I thought Julio Cesar Gonzalez was a pretty solid win too

Key word: athlete

Roy is probably the greatest athlete to ever box.

Usyk is #1 no debate… see how easy that is to be consistent N not be biased… Yall should try it sometime
I know you're not a Spence stan you just like defending all Haymon fighters for some reason and Im sure you have Spence rated above Crawford..
Who not being consistent though?

so Spence and Crawford really aint gonna fight? 🤣

It doesn’t really make sense nor is it beneficial for them to agree to a 50/50 fight when the outcome is uncertain.

I think it’s best for both fighters to go in a different direction. Maybe Spence can go to 154 and fight Thurman or a guy to let him get acclimated to the weight. Maybe Terrance can fight on black planet again for a mega 10 milllion payday against a guy I’ve never heard of

i remember before floyd was the man, people used to say Roy Jones was ducking fights and being cautious or whatever nonsense. Some ppl just couldn't fathom how great he was.

Even when he beating ruiz, larry merchant started downplaying it until Foremon started to check him. Greatest fighter of his generation.
