Yeah but how many are fighting Charlo, Andrade and Alimkhanuly? Nobody is fighting Alimkhanuly, like nobody is. He is the real boogieman. And how do we know it wasn’t both sides fukkery, networks, promoter negotiations etc?
At the end of the day I’m not caping for Munguia here. But I don’t see him as all that different to the other protected boxers in all the weight divisions.
I think he has exceptional symmetry from either side of the body for his left and right side shots, and perhaps the best natural, flat footed balance I’ve seen the last decade.
He takes too many big shots, imo that’s why they match make the shyt outta his fights. Someone at my old gym told me he has serious head issues already (and this was 2019 he told me this.)
Anyway, he will probably get Floyd’s 51 -0 the rate he is going lol. The grimy way.
Munguia's side stepping away from mandatory shots and eliminator bouts willingly aren't on others.
And who should even try to fight them? Other than Munguia the only notable up-and-comer there is Adames who fought Derevanchenko already and only waiting for the WBC to make him mandatory, something they failed to do as of yet.
Charlo isn't fighting anyone good either, except Derevyanchenko, he isn't crazy about the idea of fighting the best. Boo Boo neither, it's unfortunate cause I like him as a fighter but he's just some of the worst businessmen in boxing besides already being a high-risk low reward kind of guy promoters shelter their fighters from.
They both would have taken the Munguia fight if it was mandated though because Mexican fighters sell.
As for Alimhanuly, yes, another high-risk-low-reward kind of guy but this time it's because of his nationality rather than his style.
I haven't seen the fight yet but as I heard his boogeyman status got destroyed yesterday so I will be interested which one of these champs/former champs/contenders tries first to get to him now.
