I respect that he wants to comeback, and he's been staying fit and sparring still.

But 175 is not a weight to come back to after a long layoff imo. Stay retired.
Let him comeback....dude was talented..let's see what he can do after he let his brain heal from the beterbiev fight

Shouldn't the quality of opponents matter?
Yea but "quality opponents" is subjective... If we're talking about accomplishments.. Wilder did some shyt that won't be repeated possibly in our lifetime and he did it at Heavyweight where you have guys that could outweigh you by 20-70+ pounds

Stevenson: Haney Clearly Top Guy At 135; Anybody Say Otherwise Definitely Hatin' On Him

NEWARK, New Jersey – Shakur Stevenson understandably believes he’d dethrone Devin Haney if he receives the opportunity to dethrone the undefeated, fully unified lightweight champion.
Stevenson doesn’t dispute Haney’s status as the best lightweight in boxing, though. It’s inarguable, according to Stevenson, that Haney has earned that distinction by beating George Kambosos Jr. thoroughly three months ago.
“Devin Haney is clearly the top guy at 135,” Stevenson said during his post-fight press conference at Prudential Center. “He got all the belts. And anybody that say otherwise is definitely hatin’ on him.”
There are factions of fans and media that think Vasiliy Lomachenko, Stevenson, Gervonta Davis and/or Ryan Garcia would beat Haney if given the chance. Naturally, the 25-year-old Stevenson has doubters, too, particularly after he missed weight Thursday and surrendered his WBC and WBO 130-pound championships at the scale the day before he easily beat Brazil’s Robson Conceicao (17-2, 8 KOs) on points Friday night at Prudential Center in Stevenson’s hometown of Newark.
The left-handed Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) has won world titles in two weight classes less than 20 fights into his professional career. The former WBO featherweight titleholder wants to become a three-division champion by beating Haney (28-0, 15 KOs), who is scheduled to square off against Australia’s Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs) in an immediate 12-round rematch October 16 at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
“We gotta fight the champ,” Stevenson told ESPN’s Bernardo Osuna in the ring following his defeat of Conceicao. “Set it up. Me and Devin, we can lock in. After he fight Kambosos, let’s get it on. I’ll fight Lomachenko, too.”
Though neither Haney nor Lomachenko has agreed to anything beyond their next fights, they are expected to meet early in 2023 if they win their upcoming matches next month. Two weeks after the 23-year-old Haney, of Henderson, Nevada, boxes Kambosos in the former champion’s home country again, Ukraine’s Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) is scheduled to meet Jermaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs), of Worcester, Massachusetts, in a 12-round lightweight main event ESPN+ will stream from Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater in New York.
ESPN also will air the Haney-Kambosos rematch the night of October 15 in the United States.

I'll still never get over how Tyson Fury came in 51 pounds heavier than Wilder on fight night, but since their heavyweights nobody batted an eye, but let a nikka at 126 come in at 126.2 it's the end of the fukking world.

51 pounds was basically the difference between a heavyweight and a welterweight.

Ok good for him Pat, it doesn't change my point. If it's about maintaining weight classes to keep it fair and competitive how is a 51 pound weight difference allowed, but a fighter can come in a couple ounces over their weight and it's the end of the world.

.3 ounces is gonna make FAAAAR less of a difference than 50 or 100 pounds.

Ok so what happens if Fury and Usyk fight and Fury comes in a nice healthy 275 or 280 and Usyk is 230. What will it be then?

You can't pick and choose, either it applies to everyone or nobody.

It really isn't even about Wilder, it's about how people make such a big deal about weight classes, but then cosign a fight where one guy would outweigh another guy by the difference of like 7 weight classes on fight night. That's hypocritical.

But did he knock Valuev out though is the question... Its not easy to knock people out cold in dramatic fashion. Let alone 42 nikkas straight that all outweigh you.. These so called "quality" opponents were in no hurry to step in the ring with Wilder whatsoever
the thing is he actually beat that guy with a weight disadvantage and haye was an actual puncher..and wilder didn't KO 40 something nikkas in a row...thats his KO record..that shyt stopped at 32-33 with the stiverne 1 win bro..and who he beat before that stopped is the reason why he aint HOF bound because it damn sure didnt improve after stiverne 1

and for the record i dont think fury and joshua now are either...fury is close, joshua got setback....usyk is prolly HOF now

Winning a 12 round decision versus a fighter that far outweighs you or knocking them out early. which one is more impressive.. If you say the decision then cool I can accept that opinion I just disagree.. And you're right Stiverne 1 went the distance but the rematch he got starched.. the rest of what you're saying about who he fought after Stiverne is your personal opinion. Not facts.. When Wilder gets voted to HOF it will be because of his KO ratio, number of defenses, and length of time he reigned as champion
