Mell's biggest fights are still at 154, unless he's having trouble with the weight I don't see the appeal of him moving up to 160, he would have the same issues his brother is having with fights. He beats both Tszyu and Fundora but both fights have more appeal than anything at 160.
The problem with him staying at 154 is that even if he beats his mandos(which IMO he probably would) he eventually is gonna have to fight Errol if he stays at 154 which may be problematic considering they have the same trainer. Mall also already said he is moving up to 168. I think Mell could have a decent career at 160... if he chooses the right champion to fight first when he moves up, and that guy is someone he has unfinished business with; get him out the way and I don't see why a fight between him and Munguia couldn't be made since we know he is just waiting on either Andrade or Mall to move up and collect their belt.

Mell is prolly one of the few non HW fighters today that can carve out and be HOF bound in one division on some Terry Norris shyt...going after the right 160 champ sounds nice in theory...Mall got handed his title and did nothing since. 154 is where its at

That's still at least 2 fights to be made which at least knocks out a whole calendar year, plus he could drop a belt or 2 to let Errol snag since it's pretty much impossible to campaign as undisputed in the 4 belt era and satisfy all those mandatories/sanctioning fees.

I think Andrade would fight Mell this go around, and honestly that is exactly what boxing needs. 154 isn't his lane anymore. Once Spence handles Crawford that's his lane now. I don't mind Mell at 154, I just think it would be better if he moved up because 160 is about to have 3 vacant belts real soon.

Facts. Only reason for Spence to move to 154 is to avoid Thurman, Boots, Ortiz, Stanionis, etc.... matter of fact why would you even leave all those good ass fights at 147 to go to 154. Ditto for Mell who's biggest fights are still at 154. No reason to even sniff 160 for at least 2 more years.

Mall is the only one that's fukked.

Will he though? I don't see it that way. I actually think it's more likely they'd fight at 160 then 154, because I don't think Errol will be staying at 154 for very long.

I'm calling it now, I think Spence's time at 154 will be as short as Trinidad's. And that will be by design. Tito was moving up quickly because so a super fight with Roy Jones could be made. I think the same will happen with Errol. He will be at 154 for a couple fights before moving up to 160, so that he can get acclimated with Middleweight so that they PBC can get him in their with Canelo for a big PPV match.

Therefore, I don't see Spence having to cross paths with Charlo anytime soon

i thought the way to fight a smaller man by a big man was to use all your god given height and reach and box, like he did in the rematch with andy ruiz.
