Following his grandmother's death he lived with his father,[3] Eugene Cobbs, eventually relocating to Guadalajara, Mexico, after his father became a fugitive from the FBI. It was in Guadalajara where Cobbs found boxing.
Cobbs was convicted in 2010 for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and piloting an aircraft without a license. He was piloting the plane in 2004 when he crashed near the Wheeling-Ohio County Airport and immediately fled the scene. Authorities investigating the crash discovered 525 pounds of cocaine worth approximately $24 million. This was the largest amount of narcotics ever located in West Virginia at the time.

That's from looking up 'Eugene Cobbs' on Google. There's multiple articles reporting that Eugene Cobbs crashed a plane full of coke in 2004, and fled to Guadalajara where he lived until his capture in 2008.
He was sentenced in 2010, subsequently escapes from prison a few years later, and flees to Mexico again.
