i have zero excitement for bivol/ggg. wanted charlo/benevidez :francis:

Yeah individual people may have a personal preference but the biggest fight of them is GGG and on paper Bivol biggest challenger as he's viewed by most as either the best or 2nd best at Light Heavyweight so the weight jump gives it some interest. Charlo vs Benavidez should fight eachother and the winner has a better case to maybe land a Canelo fight one day.

This is a flat out lie. Point blank.

It’s not, GGG fight has demonstrated it can do great numbers. Canelo is already Undisputed at Super Middleweight and beat who was the champions at the time, he’s going up in weight to fight the fighter considered 1 or 2 best in the weight class and a current champion in his prime who also had an extensive amateur career, he beat Joe Smith Jr another current champion at the weight by about 9 points when they fought. The other guys waiting need to get bigger wins more consistently instead of just waiting around for a Canelo pay day, Andrade is an exception because the others, including Charlo, won’t fight him so it’s not his fault. Canelo looks too good at Super Middleweight currently, he’s probably gonna have to move up like with the Bivol fight or against another top Light Heavyweight to find a credible challenge. There may be fighters such as Benavidez that could provide it but if they had some more great wins they’d have a better case. If Benavidez beat let’s say Charlo or Andrade the fight would be much bigger in the future than it would be now, he needs some more notable wins.

No. Just no.:snoop:

Canelo is in a position to fight literally anyone that he wants to fight and make money regardless. He gladly smacks around Avini Yildrim and Rocky Fieldng types who offer NOTHING. He tries to fight some nobody from the Congo who has done NOTHING. But when it comes to the best fighters who offer the stiffest comp, its "they need more notable wins" first? Yall need to stop buying in to this, its devoid of any and all logic. People have been clamoring for these fights for YEARS.

Bivol is not some A level fighter than anyone was asking for him to see. Its not a big fight. No one cares about Bivol. Hes taking the fight because he knows its an easy win and the style suits him. I remain mindboggled that ppl cant see this.

Like I said earlier, he could do whatever he wants to do and its whatever, hes his own man. But its just annoying that we have to run with this charade like hes simply making all the best business decisions or that he has no choice. This is total B.S.

Yildirum was a mandatory, didn't really want that fight but needed to take it to keep the belt. Makabu isn't a nobody, he's one of the Cruiserweight champions, the reason they considered that fight was the weight jump, Makabu isn't an amazingly skilled fighter but he does have 25 stoppages at Cruisweight, the weight jump was the potential appeal not the fighter.

None of this post really makes any sense or is right, as I said people can have their personal opinions but you can't say Bivol who is a champion in a higher weight class and considered the 1st or 2nd best with Beterviev is some kind of cherry pick, it's not. Whoever Canelo fought would have got criticism from people who wanted him to fight others, all the 4 fights weren't bad fights, the only fight I wasn't as keen on was Charlo as I think it was too easy of a win for Canelo. It doesn't really sound like you're familiar with the fighters and just wanted him to take a certain deal or go with a certain company.

Of course Bivol is an A list fighter in his weight class (a higher one than is natural for Canelo) how can he not be when he's the champion and has beaten one of the other champions comfortably already? Again not true, loads of people were asking Canelo to fight Bivol or Beterviev, when he fought Kovalev people were asking why is he not fighting Bivol or Beterviev, that was something widely heard that he picked the lesser fighter, now he's fighting one of the very top Light Heavyweights. It is a big fight of course, not because Bivol is the biggest star in the world but because he's one of the top fighters and champion at the higher weight class. Benavidez isn't a big star either yet. Bivol is just at a higher weight class and some very credible wins too.

Do I think Canelo will win? Yes, ideally I would have liked to have seen Beterviev cause of his power but Bivol isn't a joke of a fighter at all, he can step it up and has real skill. That combined with the higher weight makes it interesting. Bivol is a better technical boxer than Beterbiev but Beterbiev has more power.

He hasn't really done anything wrong here, if he took either deal I wouldn't be mad at it as all fighters are legit, but I do think out of those 4 at the moment as a challenge Bivol potentially brings the most to the table, in his prime and current world champion with extensive amateur experience too.

Where's this energy when all these other champions and contenders don't unify or even fight top 10 comp?

Canelo is significantly more active and fighting higher quality opp than anyone else from 160-175, and that's not even debatable.

Bivol is a strong champion at a weight class where Canelo is clearly undersized, and has only fought at once. This is significantly better than any other fight that the champions and contenders have made in recent years, and it's sadly probably better than anything they'll make this year.

Disagree with literally everything here, sorry man.

U Kno, I too was a Canelo head once upon a time... But there's just no defending the man anymore. it's well past the point. This is who he is. He doesn't rise to the challenge.

Idk how you fellas find the energy to continue coddling him nd make excuses for him at this point. Even Mexicans getting tired of his shyt.

That's cool, I don't mind people having different views. I just don't see how can argue with someone who beat all the other champions and became Undisputed, it's a bit crazy to me. I'm not saying he's a perfect fighter, person or anything but he's fighting and beating the champions and now he's just signed on to fight yet another champion and one of the top regarded fighters in his weight class, this is more facts than opinion based. We'll have to see what he does after that, there are fights he hasn't had yet I'd like to see him take eventually. Realistically a Canelo fight is going to have to be earned though cause he has too many options. Canelo's star is only rising, no-one is really tired of him, people said he was scared to fight Plan and BJS and he stopped both of them, he's doing his job. Let's see how things work out going forward.
