I basically agree with you, I'm from UK and always want to see my Black UK brehs win but to the above - I do see a lot of posters on here say that mexicans don't really check for canelo, I'd be really surprised if many mexicans gave much of a fukk about arreola or andy ruiz before he won the belts. I'd be surprised too if many filipinos cared much about donaire. I think basically those groups just get on board with the successful fighters who are doing their thing - same as black people do with black fighters

I never-ever rooted for a fighter just cause he’s European, in fact most of my favorite boxers all time are American. Could care less about being accross the pond. It’s different with each person but the overdriven nationalism/patriotism was always funny to me, including all the ppl who do it in my own country.
