Technically Haney doesn't have any contract issues, because he's not under contract anymore. His Matchroom deal expired after the Linares fight.
According to Arum, Eddie has 30 days to talk with Haney and try to come to terms on a new deal. If no agreement has been made after that, Haney is free to sign with whoever. However, any deal that Haney signs with someone else, Eddie has the right to match that contract. Sorta like a franchise tag in football is what it sounds like.
Bob also said that Teofimo's wife is due to give birth in November, and he wants to fight by October. And because of the time restraints, it will be too difficult to make Lopez/Haney next

Yeah, Spence will become a household name if he KO’s Pac. We also might get Canelo/Plant and if they do that on FOX it will be a mainstream fight as well.
These “MMA only” fans make it seem like this celebrity nonsense is the only thing going on, but I see more MMA people talking about that stuff instead of actual boxing.
Other sports seem to be immune to Celebrity events and people can clearly distinguish that it’s not the top of the sport. No one says Tennis or Basketball are in rough shape when they have celeb events.
ESPN has been shoving MMA down everyone’s throat since they got the UFC deal, it was over a billion so they have to market the hell out of it. Even with all that push they barely get more chatter than boxing.
I actually like MMA as well. I’m a fan of both. Yet if it’s MMA is so great, what is the purpose of sh!tting on boxing to make it appear as if MMA is superior. You can enjoy both.
That’s how you know it’s NOT actually superior, and it’s just marketed really really well. Each division only has a handful of guys that they rotate and recycle because MMA doesn’t have any depth yet. Dana has a machine. Elvis Rodriguez just got cut from Top Rank after one loss, tossed. If Elvis was a UFC fighter Dana would have fed him some easy competition and repackaged him. In this case, Elvis goes to PBC.

I legit see Boxing having a resurgence. Hate on the celeb stuff all you want but mixing this with the real stuff simply continues to expand the audience. Wont be shocked if you see a rise of young kids getting into boxing too. I'm all ready seeing hella brehs on this site including myself looking to get into boxing for health purposes
