So I'm relaxing and I finally put on this Manny/Horn fight..never really watched it. Kept seeing everyone write he gave Manny trouble and muscled him around..something like that. I'm watching the fight all the way till they get cut to the headbutt portion. What becomes exceedingly obvious is the ESPN commentary team..Bradley and the other guy are damn near cheerleading for Horn..giving his lunging forward and strange grab technique alot of credit where Teddy Atlas is talking closer to reality as Manny eventually tags and lights him up leading to the 9th round. Terrible. Bradley has always been a shill..all that Loma ass kissing...kissing Crawford's ass..even though Mean Machine dropped him and tagged him plenty of times in a competitive nature. Even before that... Jose Benavidez was hitting Crawford with straight right hands throughout that fight when Crawford stayed in the center line too long..limpy ass Benavidez did this and didn't get any credit but I gave him credit. Crawford came back and knocked them both out. That's enough to promote him as p4p #1 somehow...sure.

The cheerleading commentary is garbage period...all that undisputed hype they pushed when Haney is the real WBC Champion...silly. Teo Lopez is silly too for acting like he's the true undisputed..so these days he's trying to be cute about it and is acting like he really wants Haney next so he can end all speculation. He's doing that because he knows GODDAMN WELL he isn't undisputed if Haney has the belt Loma gave up when he didn't want to fight Haney next.

Jermell's broad not even Black saying nikka and talking wild reckless, smh

That's the gimmick these days..trying to sell black men as whiners..in various situations compared to whites and these mixed blacks..who are supposed to be progressive, taking it all in stride with that "get over it" mentality...Gen Z is definitely pushing that gimmick..youtube, Instagram, twitter..on this forum. Nyggas bytching about Wilder, Gary Russell, shytting on Charlo like he's the bad guy for wanting Canelo..Andrade is the bad guy because he wants Canelo. Suddenly resumes matter but Canelo is fighting Yildrim, Rocky Felding, a shaky Billy Joe and Callum Smith in their previous fights. The sissy generation. Gen Z types. Hoes. F@gs. Nyggas rocking capri pants like girls..lol

Actually Bradley gave Benavidez a lot of credit in the fight commentary bro. He saw the same thing in that fight me and @ChocolateGiddyUp saw and been saying, Benavidez started to lose that fight in round 7, which he let slip that that is when his knee started to give out, he didn't use it as an excuse but he said around round 7 he lost function in his knee, like couldn't feel it anymore. Before round 7 that shyt was a dead even ass fight, arguably Benavidez was winning that shyt, and all he did was counter Crawford's jab over the top because he has a more accurate jab than Crawford. Crawford started to turn him on that bum knee once he realized he couldn't move anymore and that is when he started to get whooped.

I remember watching that thinking “Jose’s not doing bad at all but that knee wont hold up at all” and it didn’t.

I’m still perplexed as to what Showtime did with this. Too many casuals in the other thread to have a proper discussion.

Let me ask you guys this, I need some replies with ideas and not just daps.

Why wasn’t the boxing schedule put up for even 10 seconds during the broadcast?

Why wasn’t Tanks name even mentioned throughout the entire broadcast by anyone?

He is literally fighting in 2 weeks on Showtime PPV. I thought they were going to show a 20 -30 second PPV preview for it at least...yet they did not even utter his name. They didn’t even bother to waste a breath or a word on it, as if that PPV is not even happening in June...

Am I the only one here that thinks this is insane? Or am I going crazy here...help me out, I have a theory. I think they put a gag order on the staff to purposely NOT mention anything boxing related coming up on their schedule because they want to portray that this was not a legit event...

The gag order is the only logical explanation. It’s like they want to swim without getting wet....you either take advantage of this being a circus and promote your actual fighters by exposing them to a larger audience or you don’t. Half way doesn’t work. If the intent is to grow the casual fanbase, then why wouldn’t you at least show a Tank/Barrios preview clip with both looking vicious? You can also easily let Custer do this thing for 3 minutes and explain the schedule.

Casuals are going to go away thinking this event is all the sport has to offer without even knowing what else is coming up. Extremely short sighted move by showtime.

This might have been the strangest event Showtime ever put on, they handled it horribly IMO.

Not arguing with the other part of your comment, didn't even see the card but I feel too many fans over worry this shyt. Boxing is an established, popular sport, one of the few sports that are truly world sports, popular across the globe. Not every countries of course but you can't name a region in the world where it's not popular somewhere. It has one of the larger followings from any sports. Maybe not compared to team sports but the most popular team sports are a league of their own.

Yet I see boxing media and boxing fans too acting like the sport would always be on the brink of extinction.
It's a star driven sport, if there will be an era where there won't be any boxer out there that captures the masses then boxing might get into a MINOR trouble but overall would probably still survive and still be one of the more popular sports until another star finally comes. It's too embedded in most cultures to just die.

And I also think you over worry these people's reactions. They forget this shyt happened by tomorrow, this is the story of today, the next story will take them tomorrow, many of these people just follow what's hot at the moment and doesn't measure their decisions based on much else. If an event will feel "big" enough they will be there all the same, if it will be just usual boxing they won't tune in. So just like how it always gone.
