Ortiz has arguably the same power and is a better boxer. He isnt as mentally tough...but lets see if LM gets pass Peterson. if he does, then he will have proven something. right now though, I wouldnt say a guy that lost to Zab and Devon is better than a guy that beat Berto. Even if I wanted to, there is nothing to back it up.

I dont mind betting, but its too much of a pick em fight for me to bet my whole stash. I only favored Peterson and merely stating that this is the fight where we will find out where LM stands. Can he beat Peterson convincingly and move forward or does he lose another close decision? But you feel strongly if you are willing to bet all on LM. I will def put some down on it.

I look at things like this breh...

Peterson has faced better opposition and has 1 loss and 1 draw. LM's two best opponents beat him or at least he fought equal with.

I have to see LM KO somebody that is above C-class level, a natural at his weight, and not past his prime before I proclaim him a devastating puncher. I remember when Randall Bailey was KOing everybody at 140 and people were comparing him to Hearns
when he stepped up in class he lost. He has a high KO percentage but never KOed a B-class opponent. Bailey once was where LM is now. He was champ along with Tszyu, Mitchell, and Zab IIRC.

You can have all the power in the world but you have to be able to get the shots in...and you see those chances decrease as opposition level increases.

LM is only known to the masses for being "jobbed" against Judah and Alexander. Thats his claim to fame. Other than that, he hasnt done anything yet.

He lost to Timothy Bradley, managed to obtain a draw with Victor Ortiz, and cheated in order to beat Khan with the synthetic testesterone in his system........and I know you aint giving him credit for the Kendall **** fight

the comp is not far apart but the results in the fights tell the stories. LM didnt get it done against Zab and Devon. Soto....not a natural at that weight and Chop is a sometimes spoiler who couldnt beat Zab when he was in his prime. Peterson however only officially lost to Bradley. Ortiz better than anyone LM has beaten...in fact Ortiz may still be a better fighter than LM.

No, I think Alexander is better, but LM didnt beat Alexander. Peterson didnt lose to Ortiz. Thats all I am saying. Their careers are close and some decisions couldve gone either way, but when Matthysse had Zab in trouble....I just knew he was gonna step on the gas and finish him and he didnt. When he had Alexander in trouble, I knew Devon couldnt do anything but try and stay busy and keep his hands moving but if Matthysee wouldve stepped it up, he wouldve won, and he didnt. He has no one to blame for those losses but himself. Come on duke, u in somebodies hometown, u need to leave it all in the ring. Either he doesnt want to step it up or he couldnt because Zab and Devon were too good for him to do so. Which is it?

I am really not trying to say that LM is better or worse than Peterson, what I am saying is, if we go by what little history we have, no one has any legitimate reason to feel that LM is better or will beat Peterson.

If you explain it to the casual fan, they will lean towards Peterson for the victory because:

Peterson lost to Bradey...but Bradley beat Alexander who beat Matthysse.
Peterson beat Khan....but Khan stopped Judah...a guy who beat Matthysse.

As far as lineage...Peterson is way ahead of LM because he lost to the man that beat the man, that beat LM (Alexander). in one instance and in the other, he beat the man that beat the man that beat LM (Judah).

LM may crush Peterson for all I know. Going off history though, there is nothing to support the notion that he will.
