Andre Ward is the current Super Middleweight Super Champion

Although WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather recently stated that he had been stripped of his WBA super welterweight “super” title, that appears to not be the case. Mayweather is still listed as super champion in the new WBA ratings released today.

Meanwhile, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez was named WBA boxer of the month, but did not receive the “super champion” status the WBA created especially for champions who hold the title of two or more organizations recognized by the WBA. Guillermo Rigondeaux, who unified the WBA and WBO titles against Nonito Donaire, also did not receive super champion status. Both are listed as “unified” champions along with WBA/WBO flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada.

WBA super champions include Wladimir Klitschko, Andre Ward, Floyd Mayweather, Danny Garcia, Chris John, Anselmo Moreno and Roman Gonzalez. Of that group only Klitschko and Garcia currently hold belts from multiple organizations.

Didnt he just get stripped of one his other titles? They keep backing themselves into corners with their silly rules. I feel like they amen title rules on the fly.

I swear all this shyt needs to be regulated, it's hard to stick up for boxing when the corruption is so blatant.

I went to the WWE Smackdown show last night and even tho its fake sports, their belts had some kind of consistency.

Thats like saying the Harlem Globetrotter's League has better rules then the NBA.

technically he didnt get stripped. he was elevated to Super status because he had the WBC belt, then he was elevated to WBC champion Emeritus (soon to be WBC God title) so its not really a strip. So the WBC title is vacant but Ward overlooks like Zeus or Odin over the earth realm until a suitable WBC champion is proclaimed, then they can fight Ward.

Basically, Ward is the champion of the WBC and WBA and they have regular champions under him. :putamadre:

they do the same shyt. they have a WWE champion and a World Heavyweight Champion and it used to be just the latter. then they used to have two World Tag Team championships, not sure if they still do...I remember a few years ago it was unified by the two fake brothers, then they eliminated one of them. they use the same concept, because while we were at the show that had the World Heavyweight Champion, somewhere else the WWE Champion was performing. Ditto for the Tag Team champs.
Same con really, they just dont split into all the divisions like boxing.

yeah, was a lotta Mexicans...and I had never noticed that before when WWE comes to town. we need some boxing matches here if they turnin out like that for WWE. a decent Mexican contender could bring crowds out in droves. Actually, it would be a good idea to do Floyd fight in theaters here if he fights Canelo.
