???

They do all the extra shyt to put together an event, so the boxers can focus on just preparing for the fight.

You mention Al setting fighters up with promotions, but at the end of the day, Al is still responsible for guiding these fighters through the entire process -- for example, there's no way Wilder was ever in charge of setting up a press tour on his own let alone an entire fight card and venue.

Joshua not finna be simultaneously negotiating with the Saudis and Tyson Fury's team.

Etc.

Fighters have enough on their plate preparing for a fight. It's not impossible, but again, I highly doubt a fighter would be able to or even willing to run a fully staffed promotional company. It's just asking for too much.

i mean oscar had golden boy promotions established when he was still an active fighter but im sure schaefer and some others were the ones doing the brunt work of shyt like the bolded

honestly it makes even more sense why bob was all :obama: regarding triller winning that bid for teofimo and his mando..he got a high 6 figure payday from them per bid rules and triller being all about social media does all the promoting and planning and shyt and he can go :hubie: to a degree....he's gotten old and lazy on that front and prolly doesnt care since triller isnt trying to build stable of fighters long term :heh:

If fighters have to promote themselves then what do they need a promoter for? Swrious question not even being a smart ass.

guarantees and access to platforms cause the “promoters” are gatekeepers
Haymon kept it real with the manager and not a promoter thing. unless it changed recently I think jaron ennis is a true free agent but eventually he going have to start being managed by Haymon to get a big fight I think. Even canelo had to sign a short deal with match room to get these recent fights.

Out of these 4, 154 is the only one that consistently gives us good COMPETITIVE fights on a regular basis. Hell even Jermell vs Castano for Undisputed is literally a 55/45 type fight (I'll gice Jermell the 55 because he is the 3 belt holder), but it aint gonna be no walk in the park for either fighter.

Matter of fact on another subject Ring Magazine snubbed Jermell out the top 10 P4P again. :stopitslime:

Yea I feel like pbc fighters promoting themselves is a cyse more than anything
I’m sure it’s some kind of financial incentive for them to set up proxy companies to host the events but I’d be shocked if pbc/haymon wasn’t doing the heavy lifting on the logistics behind the scenes
Then you got randoms like Gary Shaw working with pbc fighters but I don’t even know what he looks like which proves my point that a promoter now is more of a manager behind the scene role then some one out there literally promoting you on a public stage
