Hearn trying his best to stay with Canelo even after he's done fighting his guys :dead:
Idk how would it sit with Al had DAZN outbid Tom Brown or whoever Haymon's using as a bailiff promoter at the time. He gets paid anyway but don't know how mad FOX would be then. If it's free to bid I can even see a Triller fukkery again.

There are rumors that FOX and PBC gonna end their contract like a year earlier than the original plan which is this year. Either way... ESPN or DAZN might as well just go an try to sign a deal with Al/PBC, just imagine how much easier would it be to make fights between the big promoters then.
I don't see the whole PBC staying only on Showtime after the FOX deal expires, way too big of a roster for that

That rumour was outed as being complete bs.

Canelo is going to take one look at how much attention Andy Ruiz is going to get for his PPV fight and finally realize how much his brand has tanked over the last 3 years.

Ruiz is going to get the 3 part Fight Camp and also the Countdown on main FOX leading up to the PPV. That is 3 weekends of a training camp episode on a channel where you can just turn on the tv. The Wilder and Spence ones have done great numbers and it helps with exposure. Ruiz will get more airtime than Canelo has received on regular tv than the last 3 years combined, maybe ever.

Even Canelo’s brother got more shine on national TV than Canelo has over the last couple of years. Man had a PBC Countdown for the Lara fight in 2019.

I like the concept of DAZN, but the reality is it’s just not healthy for the long term growth of Boxing in North America. Nobody knows it exists outside of hardcores.

Well, Canelo's brother might have gotten more 'shine' on national TV, but I certainly don't remember his first name.:pachaha:

Even with national TV spots, most fighters were not making what Canelo made on DAZN, and certainly not what Joshua was making as well.

i don't think DAZN is inherently bad, because streaming is the future of television. However, what is bad, is the network obligations that often interfere with or outright break down negotiations for big fights.

Instead of having networks bid on, say, a Joshua Wilder fight, we're getting shytty cards while the big fights never get made or take too long to come to fruition. Promoters get budgets for the cards and fights that would otherwise never be put on TV, but they're struggling to overcome network loyalty when it comes to making actual meaningful fights, and that's hurting the sport.

As it stands now, I think boxing had great momentum before the pandemic struck.
