You have some good boxers, Goulamirian is a factor at 200, Soro at 154, Oubaali at 118 and I like prospects like Christian M'billi and Souleymane Cissokho too, Yoka obviously has potential as well. Plus you have some vets like Takam, Mendy or N'dam.
Your boxing scene seems healthy from here though possibly there's even more potential there that's not been utilized yet.
None but Yoka have star power though. Yoka is the one that is really pushed by Canal+ and the one France is banking on to lead the rest. I hope we can have some UK-France fights soon with him because a fight against Chisora or even Whyte (probably too soon this year) could be reallly interesting :mjlit: Last boxer we had that made headlines was Mormeck.
I like M'Billi and Soro myself but they are both flying under the radar (like all the others to be frank)

I’m iffy on this guy but he basically made a Keith/Derrick Rose comparison vid and it’s not too bad... boy speaks facts around the 10 Minute mark.. at least how I felt.

I dont wanna say it’s over but my gut is telling me that it is for him. Too inactive/injured. It will be close to or over 2 years by the time he gets back into the ring. Ridiculous

Joel Diaz Receiving Death Threats Over Yildirim's Loss To Canelo

Joel Diaz, trainer for Turkish star Avni Yildirim, is getting bombarded with threats over his boxer's crushing defeat at the hands of WBC, WBA super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, which took place on February 27th at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Yildirim, who had the entire country of Turkey behind him, was dominated from the start of the contest - with Diaz stopping the fight after three rounds to prevent Yildirim from taking further punishment.

Since that contest took place, Turkish fans have attacked Diaz - with many alleging that he was paid off by Canelo's team to sabotage Yildirim's camp.

"There are messages that I have from people in Turkey, where they are telling me that they are going to kill me because I sold out Yildirim, that instead of improving him I made him worse, that everything I did was worse. In fact, they are asking me how much Canelo paid me for putting my fighter in that position. [They say] 'You are Mexican, Canelo is Mexican and we know he paid you a few million dollars to do that to Yildirim,'" Diaz mentioned in an interview with Ernesto Amador.

"I'm not selling myself so they can hurt a fighter. If the boxer wins and looks good, I win and I look good, so I wanted my fighter to shine, so people can say 'what a fight this b*stard gave and Joel trained him' - but it is not my fault that the boxer did not pay attention [to my instructions], because he did not do anything that we worked on in training camp."

Yildirim is taking the loss so hard that he does not want to return to Turkey, thinking that he dishonored his country.

"He feels that he has disappointed his homeland and does not want to go back to Turkey. He cried in the bathroom and said nothing," Diaz revealed.

So I finally watched the video. Some good points.

I disagree with his assessment of Thurman overlooking Pacquiao. He knew exactly what Manny was about. Yes 2019 was supposed to be a getback year. But when that type of opportunity arises, you take it. Keith has constantly said this. Even during his latest IG live when he was cursing out Bob, he answered questions from his followers. And he was asked why did he take the fight with Pac knowing he was going in with only 1 good hand, and he was like "because there's no guarantee I could get the Pacquiao fight later. Take it while it's there." I think his miscalculation comes where he figured "even if I lose, I lost to a legend. No harm in that!" Which is correct. Little did he realize that his peers would use that L as an excuse to freeze him out :francis:

That being said, a healthy Thurman at 147 is still a top tier fighter, and he can get back to the top. The problem is that he might have to build his way back up. And I don't think he has the temperament for that. Our fellow Thurman stan @LauderdaleBoss has always been honest in his assessment in Keith in that he just doesn't love boxing like that. When you don't love boxing like that, you not starting from the bottom all over again.

I think he's at the end 1 way or another, because he's talked about retirement since before the Manny fight. Before the fight, a follower asked him on IG Live when he'd retire from boxing, he said "I don't know. Maybe 33, 34, 35. But definitely no later than 35. Even from when I started boxing, I never envisioned myself being an old man in boxing. That was never in the cards for me". Then in his latest IG live video, when a fan asked when will he hang up the gloves, he responded with "Whenever the big fights stop coming. Whether it be 33, 35, 38, it don't matter. I'll be here as long as there's big fights to be made"

That kinda talk isn't encouraging :francis:

Lol, he has a passionate and delusional fanbase. Imagine trying to find an excuse to that.

Ppl in general have major gripes with coming to terms with losses. If less fans would believe it's their nation or race is represented by a single fighter, instead would just view them as individuals they might have an easier time accepting these losses, wouldn't experience it like their whole nation or race took an L just that one person (how it really is). But it's impossible to rationalize that as the whole essence of it is irrational and emotional.

Not only true to Turkish fans btw, they seem to be one of the more passionate ones but same holds true to many other fans

I remember Yildirim's fans in Germany tried their hardest to intimidate Eubank Jr. like they put death threats on banners and shyt... Eubank might not be the smartest boxer in the ring but he couldn't be bothered by all that and knocked Yildirim the fukk out in 3 in front of his delusional fans

As much as I want to like the Charlo brothers, I can't stand those two idiots. I know they're trying to sell a fight, but some of their talk is just egotistical.

Hurd is one of the most unimpressive fighters I've ever seen too. Just oversized and relentless, other than that he's not impressive.
I mean jermell didn't say anything wrong. Hurd still got j rock problems:yeshrug:

I don't see this being a walk in the park for Jake. This isn't a basketball player or another YouTuber. Ben has a weak hand game but he's also a legit fighter who has been able to withstand serious punishment. And his gas tank is impressive. He could make it grueling and wear Jake down. Jake will finally be fighting a guy with a real fighting background. I wanna see if he has that dog in him. I expect Ben to smother him and see if he can take jake to deep waters. If it goes past 6 it'll be anybody's game. If Jake makes easy work of him I'll be impressed.
