I'm kinda surprised how cheap tix are for Canelo's next fight. I never thought I'd be able to get into the biggest draw in the sport's fight for $75 (even with who he's fighting).

Too many factors for why I can't go, but man that's not bad at all.

Cliff notes: Teofimo Lopez said the IBF would strip him if he didn't fight his mando, IBF says that is 100% false and would have gave him a pass to fight for undisputed(we all knew this already anyway), Bob Arum also confirms and says he had bigger fights to make out there but CHOSE to fight Kambosos instead of making a big fight aka fight Devin Haney. Long story short Teofimo Lopez looking real bad on these boxing streets, looking like a whole lying ass :duck: out here.

There’s a good amount of fans online who say Teofimo undisputed shyt some pundits on big boxing podcasts/media even echo that sentiment.. if you were in Teofimo’s shoes, why would you not feel like you’re the Undisputed Champion of the Division, you beat The Top Guy in the division and took all his belts...I mean he’s got a WBC Belt :manny:

That IBF “Mandatory” is clever maneuvering.. a page straight out of Floyd’s playbook :lolbron:

Whole lot of juelz to say he ducked a unification bout:wow:, and yes if I was teofimo just starting my career I'd want to make a legacy so I can become the main attraction in boxing for future paydays. He's not "money " Mayweather don't compare his legacy to that

Probably Plant. December gives him enough time to heal his hand injury and prepare for the fight.

They'll probably have a fight agreed upon late summer/early fall, then if all goes well with Canelo's September fight (most likely a lesser opponent) then can fight Plant in December for undisputed at 168
Think it'll be plant in September. He already said the other day he wants that September date. But if not I could see that opening the door for canelo vs Spence:lupe:

Farmer: Diaz 'Stupid' For Losing IBF Title At Scale; What Goes Around Comes Around
By Keith Idec

Published On Fri Feb 12, 2021, 07:44 PM EST

Tevin Farmer couldn’t help but laugh when he was informed Friday that Joseph Diaz Jr. lost the IBF junior lightweight title at the scale.

Farmer feels Diaz being stripped of his 130-pound championship the day before what was supposed to be his first title defense is “karma” for Diaz not fighting Farmer again. Diaz defeated Philadelphia’s Farmer by unanimous decision to win that IBF belt a year ago, but Farmer didn’t get the immediate rematch he thought he was guaranteed in his contract because the deadline expired before it could be scheduled.

Diaz instead moved forward with a 12-round fight against Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov, the IBF’s mandatory challenger. Rakhimov made weight Friday (129.8 pounds), but Diaz stepped on the California State Athletic Commission’s scale at 133.6 pounds, roughly 3½ pounds above the junior lightweight limit.

The 28-year-old Diaz was subsequently stripped of his title. Tajikistan’s Rakhimov (15-0, 12 KOs) still can win the IBF junior lightweight crown by beating Diaz, but Diaz (31-1, 15 KOs) can’t retain it even if he defeats Rakhimov in a main event DAZN will stream Saturday night from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California (8 p.m. EST; 5 p.m. PST).

“I got a few phone calls about it and I was just like, ‘Wow!’ To me, he was never a world champion,” Farmer told BoxingScene.com. “As we all know in boxing, you’re not a true champion until you make your first defense. So, he got what he got. What goes around comes around. Karma’s a beast. That’s what he gets.”

Diaz’s disastrous trip to the scale surprised Farmer because the 2012 U.S. Olympian was in position to make at least substantial six-figure purses as a 130-pound champion.

BoxingScene.com has learned that the southpaw from Downey, California, was fined $100,000 from his $500,000 purse by the CSAC. Diaz paid half of that fine to Rakhimov and the additional $50,000 to the CSAC.

“It’s just shows a lack of discipline,” said Farmer, who lost to Diaz by scores of 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 last January 30 in Miami. “I don’t even know what to think about it. It’s just stupid. He essentially was about to start making real money, and he loses his belt on the scale, like a dummy. I may have cut weight wrong in the past, but I always made sure I made weight.”

Whatever occurs Saturday night, Farmer (30-5-1, 6 KOs, 1 NC) isn’t interested in a rematch with Diaz anymore because he has been stripped of the title Farmer hopes to regain.

“Now,” Farmer said, “he can kiss my ass.”

:camby: With that BS ass Canelo vs Spence fight. Nobody other than Spence stans think it would be even competitive.

Give me Canelo vs Charlo instead.

good chance that it will be Canelo vs GGG imo, still the biggest money fight out there for Canelo and while I’m more interested in Canelo vs Andrade or Charlo, a GGG rubber match is still better than beating up on a 147 pounder.

Farmer sounds bitter, he can bs about karma and Diaz never being a true champion all day, he still got his ass beat and his belt taken by the same guy. Diaz beat him comfortably while sporting a deep cut from round 1-2. It was clear enough, nobody I’ve seen cried for a rematch and had it not for the clause nobody would even think about a rematch.

Not saying it's the best matchup. Personally don't think spence is ready for it. But both sides have already expressed interest. Money talks loudest in boxing. And at this point charlo still hasn't committed to moving to 168. One day he says he's gonna move up the next he's staying put. Him vs benavidez is the fight to make right now. Golovkin also hasn't expressed any interest in moving up. And he needs to fight a legit opponent again for me to think he can still perform at an elite level. Right now the interest just isn't there for a 3rd fight. I think a mungia fight is weak but if golovkin can beat him in brutal fashion it would at least build a good amount of hype for a canelo rematch.

But either way I still think we're getting plant in September. Don't think the hand injury is that serious and plant already said he'll be ready. But if not I think canelo will look for the biggest event possible:yeshrug:
