I wouldn't even complain about this Pat. Maybe WW can finally hurry up and get moving again. I blame Thurman and his 15 tune ups and 4 get back years for the stagnation.
Then you learn there are different styles. Which one would you say you are closer to

Even the way of kicking is different. I used to do karate style kicks but muay thai one of pretty different.Im a boxer doing mt i would fukk around w it here and there back in the day while my kid was at wrestling practice but since mendez closed ive been doing it exclusively and its tough. Id say i have the most trouble w guys who have a good teep and leg kicks obv. Also retraining your brain for the small things like not bending your knees as much is the hardest part for me. Like you drill things for hours and years to then switch it up is tough man. I will say im pretty decent at knees and kicks tho i went from never doing it to throwing headkicks pretty quickly but ive always been pretty flexible so that helped.
Its been a dope change of pace and i respect the shyt out of it but i think i prefer boxing. I think once rona finished ima try and do both though.
I finally got used to my legs staying swollen though
I asked dude when does the shin swelling stop he like. Never

Yeah the swelling doesn't really stop. You start adapting maybe bruise less. Gotta get used to conditioning the shin as well
shyt the teep by high level guys is like a jab.Yeah there is little things im good n shyt im bad at. Like countering the mt jab is easier for me because they throw it to fukk you up where in boxing I was taught it as more of a distraction. The minute i see that big jab im shooting the right hand will land it a good chuck of the time. If that jab lands tho

Exactly. Their style of sparring is why these muay thai guys can end up with 200 or more pro fight career. You get amateur boxers with hundreds of fights but they sparring hard.my coach is a Haitian dude w huge reach southpaw learned in Thailand and is always bringing those savages over here to teach
I do love their sparring style though super technical and playful almost. There have been classes where we sparred 30+ minutes and you don't even notice it. Maybe it's the boxing gyms ive been to but you are way more likely to get good sparring from a random in MT than you would a random boxing one. Dude's trying to kill each other sparring is to me.
Hard sparring should be some once a year type shyt if that.
Nothing against Ugas....i just dont see Ugas as anything more than a B level welterweight who got a mean come up lol
Ugas v Swift ... Make it happen Al

Even then muay thai still got much more deaths than boxing so imagine with hard sparring
