Haymon never wants his fighters to face each other unless absolutely necessary. Berto style with his speed and athleticism too risky for FMJ for the type of money he brings. Every fight brings risk, but Ortiz and Guerrero bring more money than Berto with less risk.

Haymon makes clients champions by recycling belts. When FMJ won the WBC jmw belt from DLH, who was in line and picked it up when he vacated? Vernon Forrest (RIP). When FMJ vacated his WBC welterweight title who was in line and picked it up? Andre Berto. Both Haymon fighters. Those fights were hardly worthy of being called world championship fights. They beat Baldomir and Mickey Rodriguez respectfully.

IF Haymon matches 2 of his fighters together he is going to get more than one champion out of it. If Lucas and Danny bet that Danny will vacate one of his titles and a Haymon fighter will be there to pick it up. If you are a halfway decent fighter and Haymon signs you....you will fight for a title....immediately.

Even in the 30 days to May documentary Hasim Rahman was like damn Floyd it never has been done when a fighter done cleaned out his whole division like you and Floyd said well I aint fight Berto yet, then said that they needed to get it on, the documentary was filmed before Robert dismantled him

no no no...you are talking about recent stuff. you take it too far. in the past it is known that TOP Haymon fighters rarely faced each other. this was before Pac even got to WW. of course as time elapses, Haymon's stable increases so naturally some of his fighters have to be matched against each other. Its just the M/O of some managers/advisors/promoters. TR did it. You only match your top guys when it is beneficial financially and you are able to map out a great plan should the laws of probability work in your favor as far as winner/loser.

what I am saying is, I dont believe had Berto beat Ortiz he wouldve faced Floyd. I dont believe if he wouldve beaten Guerrero he wouldve faced Floyd either. The only scenario where I would see them facing off is if Berto had beaten BOTH and was still undefeated. Otherwise there is no real need. You guys seriously underestimate the amount of business that goes on in boxing. It really has a lot less to do about how good someone is now because champions and stars can easily be manufactured. there is no reason for FMJ to make the same amount or less to fight Berto when he can fight Ortiz or Guerrero. no reason whatsoever. them beating Berto just "legitimizes" them as FMJ opponents. Ortiz was a joke....we will see what Ghost does.

Berto made millions fighting on HBO, there was never a true need to match him against FMJ unless FMJ didnt have any other opponents. I know you dont believe that...but I just dont believe otherwise. Berto and FMJ couldve fought at anytime now.

Furthermore, FMJ has to give soundbytes to Berto, especially if he is a Haymon fighter. Whether he is going to fight him or not. There is a financial roadmap and strategies to get from point a to b. The fighters listen to Haymon because he is the best. If they follow his instructions, he delivers. So whatever Haymon asks of his clients they do because he always has a plan and reason for them to do so.

then...
FMJ beat Oscar for the WBC jmw belt.
then
FMJ defended WBC ww belt against Hatton.

why did FMJ vacate both of those titles and why were his next two fights (vs. JMM and Mosely) non-title fights @ WW?
