Adrien Broner Hit With $4 Million Judgement in Las Vegas Attack
By BoxingScene Staff

Published On Wed Dec 9, 2020, 10:10 PM EST

Former four division world champion Adrien Broner has been hit by another legal judgement - this time in Las Vegas.

Last month in Ohio, Broner was jailed for contempt of court for his failure to pay a judgment of more than $800,000. That judgment is connected to an incident from 2018, when Broner was alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman at a nightclub. Broner had ignored the lawsuit - which allowed the claimant to secure a default judgment.

The boxer was released within a few days and promised to comply with the court's orders.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, a Las Vegas judge has now approved a judgment of $4 million against Broner.

The lawsuit is connected to a 2017 incident, where Broner struck an individual, Carlos Gonzalez, on the Las Vegas strip. Gonzalez claims the punch had knocked him unconscious, chipped his tooth and inflicted him with injuries.

A video of the incident made it's way to the internet and quickly went viral.

Gonzalez hired a lawyer and filed a lawsuit in 2018.

In a similar manner to the case in Ohio, it's being claimed that Broner had dodged service of the lawsuit on numerous occasions - which prompted District Judge Adriana Escobar to grant a motion for default judgment on Tuesday.

“Broner’s boxing career had essentially weaponized his body, which he used to violently attack [Gonzalez]," attorney Ash Ganier wrote in court papers., according to the LVRJ.

“The incident itself was entirely unprovoked, and he’s really a menace to society. It’s impacted [Gonzalez’s] daily life in many different ways. We’re going to do everything we can to collect against Adrien Broner, but that’s an uphill battle, for sure."

Ganier told the court that his client had never met Broner prior to the incident in question.

Broner was arrested over the punch - and he pleaded guilty to a battery charge.

You think Mikey would take the fight??...He
already ducked it once ... Swift N PBC thought it was a done deal N Mikey said :hubie:... that’s the whole reason Swift was inactive after the Granados fight :beli:

Mikey just waiting to hear back from Pacquiao is all.:lolbron:

On a side note: if AB-Danny gets made and is put on PPV, I'd have to boycott PBC.

all 3 of them had great punch variation...esp mike...the only difference i think is because lewis packed more wallop on his punches than those 2 cuz he had more weight behind them
I was referring to Wlad, pimp. Everyone knows he was better than Mike and Evander
