So Spence last 3 fights (Mikey at WW, Porter, Danny Garcia), he promised to punish them give them the beatings of their life and vicious KOs.

Whats the deal here? Power didn't carry?

mikey who knows? mikey is prolly a lot tougher than we all thought

porter had the right plan for spence. made spence fight instead of box and porter somehow was able to take all that and dish it back

the danny fight he didnt really raise any red flags...man was coming back from a car accident and danny has a caveman chin :manny:

He hadn't been working with his S&C coach Blue Ray ... you could physically see the difference in his body since the Ocampo fight.

Swift throwing 700 punches, solved half his problem.

Now he has to work on being explosive. That's what truly held him back against Spence and was the difference to me. Danny needs to develop the ability to rip off combos and press on the fly quickly. There were times where he'd back Spence off with a couple well timed shots, but he'd always let him regroup. Then when it was Spence turn, he'd back Danny off with a shot or two and then run off a bunch of combos pushing Swift back even more. Basically making it hard for Swift to reset and go on the attack again.

Its not just about letting your hands go, its about letting your hands go at the most opportune moments. Exploding during lulls or when a guy wants to take a breather are examples. Angel might not be the one to train Danny on this, but it needs to be done. His game is lacking that part. Its not like Spence threw 1200 punches on some Pac shyt.. He threw just enough during the right moments to offset and beat up Danny.

Swift got a lot to think about going forward.

Agreed

I also thought Danny & his corner would alternate between putting some pressure on him & countering punching but he laid back for the most part. Spence was clearly affected by those body punches & for the life of me I don't understand why his corner didn't tell him to keep going downstairs. I think he needs a new voice is his corner but his father clearly overachieved with him

And for the record the commentating during the fight was God awful lol

Not offensively or anything like that but since how long you guys are keeping tab on SnC coaches :gucci:
Some of you were talking about this Blue Ray guy I was like "who?". I follow every divisions bar 105 but I don't follow the SnC coach scene if that's a thing

That sounds good but the guy is soon to be 33, I don't think he's gonna improve anyhow from here let alone become more explosive to his older days, he is who he is but that is still a very good fighter who has had a good run at 140 and stayed in the top 5 range at 147 for long.

Maybe this only makes sense for fights that are guaranteed to surpass 1 million buys
But I love the approach Floyd is using for the Paul fight. Reward the hardcore fans who will buy soon as a fight is announced with a cheaper price
If more ppl buy a fight in advance and talk about doing so a level of FOMO will probably exist encouraging ppl on the fence to hurry up and buy too

Ariza was the only S&C coach I ever remember ppl talking about. Mostly as a way to hate on Manny for the "Ariza shakes" :russ:. I've been following spence "closely" since 2015 at least and never heard of his S&C coach either :manny:

edit: memo is another one who became known for making JMM drink piss when he was juicing

Danny was never an explosive guy. The shyt I described in my post is something Danny hardly ever does, which leads me to believe its something that he doesn't train for or is focused on while in camp.
I definitely believe he can improve on that one aspect if he gets the right trainers, if not he's gonna stay where he's at and be the Austin Trout of the welterweights.

This ain't some Wilder shyt where you almost starting from scratch with a guy who wasn't all that serious about learning the fundamentals in the 1st place. I think Swift humble enough to learn some tweaks. Him throwing 700 punches lets me know he can improve.

This doesn’t happen at the highest level of boxing with guys that can take care of themselves in the ring.

If you know you know type thing ... when EJ was doing the last pre fight press conference with the live chat folks brought up the question of why he stopped working with Blue Ray.

Blue Ray a solid dude, he does great work and had Errol on a 11 fight KO streak from the first time they trained together. He looked physically his best and the work he did was what made him look stronger as the fight went on.

He also is connected to the LDBC and Black Fight Fan (Trill Boxing) out there in Dallas TX.

His IG is @bluerayfitness , check him out
