Canelo: No Mayweather Obsession, Sept. 14 is My Date! - Boxing News

Canelo pump faking like a motherfukker, if he truly wanted Floyd he would of said yes he wanted to fight Floyd in his next fight, he gives us a resounding NO, i'm not obsessed with Mayweather there are other options.

So lets end the fukking discussions here....................

They won't fight in September and they'll never fight as a weight class change seems imminent for Canelo. GB would never let Mayweather ruin their future star anyway

Even if Canelo actually wanted to fight Mayweather right now I don't think GBP would have let it happen before they did a Canelo/Cotto fight.
Oscar wants to get that Mexico v Puerto Rico money plus they probably look at Cotto as a guaranteed win for Canelo which would just elevate his profile even more.

:ahh: if Cotto fights Canelo, I don't think I'd root for anyone as hard in my life

Cotto beats him easily IMO. A fighter with a busy work rate is Cotto's weakness, and Canelo' shytty stamina and low work rate will be his achilles heel in this fight. Cotto wont sit there and let Canelo sit there with his hands done like Trout did without making him pay even if that be a jab it's gonna be impactful punches and not no p*ssy ass pawing, and pitty pat shots

Canelo is 22. If Floyd wasn't around, who would everyone be clamoring for Canelo to fight? That's the way I try to look at it. Maybe Canelo will never be ready for Floyd. Why jeopardize his 0 when he's only 22? Most people seem to be fine with Broner building his resume and learning because he's young. I think GBP should take their foot off the gas on this Floyd thing and let Canelo build his brand slowly. That way they can position himself as the biggest fighter in a post-Floyd boxing world, and/or possibly catch Floyd on the back-end in his last fight, giving Canelo the best shot.

I'm not a Canelo fan, but like I said, if Floyd wasn't around, we'd all say he's 22 and needs more quality fights like the Trout one. He's not ready for Floyd. Why force it? That's how you end up with a Chavez Jr situation.

You know who is ready for Floyd? Sergio Martinez....

I'm a huge Cotto fan, but Canelo's gonna f*ck him up man.

Cotto has slowed down, easily gets swollen up during fights, doesn't have really good lateral movement like he used to (which wasn't much to begin with) and he himself has stamina issues. Cotto also is a spot fighter and isn't a defensive wizard. Canelo is just an overall bigger guy with legit speed and power at 154 and I don't think Cotto can hurt him. Cotto's #1 weapon coming up was his left hook to the body. He hasn't used that thoroughly since before the 1st Margarito fight. Once he started getting hit with bombs at 147 he sorta put the body punching to the side and became a head hunter. Cotto CAN have one last good performance, but against this kid...I just don't see it happening. :manny:

Broner if he continues undefeated, Broner Canelo is the next Manny Mayweather, there is a reason for his rush to the bigger weights for Broner

Canelo Mayweather aint happening though Canelo doesn't want it, and he doesn't exactly need floyd for a pay day, and a weight class change is imminent for Canelo

Broner's too small for Canelo. I saw him in Miami and dude is tiny in comparison. I think his peak weight class is maybe Welterweight. Canelo's going to be a Middleweight / Super Middleweight down the road.

You really don't think Canelo wants a Mayweather fight? Hell...I want a Mayweather fight :heh:
