I know this thread is full of tough guys and too cool for school ass nikkas but are we really surprised a boxer looks up to the greatest fighter of the generation?

With that said he should have kept that to himself or just talk to Floyd now the media gonna make it a thing.

Loma would get highlight reel KO'd by Mikey. That's Mikey coming off getting humiliated by Spence, no comeback fight.

Get in Loma's face feint to the body then left hook upstairs.........Mikey KO's him with one punch if Loma tries any of that cute shyt
Before the Spence fight I'd actually favored Mikey slightly or a 50-50, he is a very good counter-puncher and he can really crack at 135. I could definitely see him catching Loma coming in. With that said I'm not sure I'd pick him now, he'd probably struggle to make weight, he was never a top shape athelte to begin with but it would be even worse if he'd have to cut back to 135.

Mikey should have stayed at 135/140 and take the big money fight with Loma instead the big money fight with Spence, he'd be better off.
Now he's about to stay at 147 where he almost got shut out by Spence even though he could still make 140. I think he's only in it for the money unfortunately. No other reason why a top boxer would stay in a division where it was proven painfully obviously that he's not the best.

Nah you gotta watch the interview. They asked him about the Canelo/Kovalev fight and he said he only saw the knockout.

They asked him about his thoughts on Canelo and weight classes etc. He made a good point in that we seem to praise fighters that jump up from say middleweight to light heavy, but when it comes to bantamweight to lightweight etc unless you knocking them out its just standard.

He more or less praised Canelo but at the same time asked the question as to whether or not a top line, light heavy/cruiserweight was targeted.

I do agree with him regarding the lack of praise for lighter fighters when it comes to jumping up in weight. We look at Canelo and praise the 'cojones' jumping up. But when it comes to say a Loma etc whom is fighting at 135 (but is physically, naturally suited to 126) we just see it as the natural progression that a fighter at that weight has to take generally.
Difference in jumping from 26 to 35 tho. 3 weight classes within 9 pounds. When compared to 47 to 75, 28 pounds. Or 54 to 75 if you want to count when he got a first title And those weightclasses are the perfect combo of speed andpower
