DAZN got nikkas out here moving like Karmaloop

Yeah they are stepping up their social media game like PBC did. I don't like this shyt one bit but it is what it is, it's a thing now... :francis:
Objectively, they are right though, you don't have to be the stan of any organization or network to see that. :yeshrug:
The "fight parties" defense of all these PPVs always sounded weak to me. We can just state that DAZN has a better price to value, and one can still like PBC more for other things, idc, but it hasn't got a better price to value than DAZN.

It just feels dubious, bit of a cheap shot and won't help them working together, and it's not a good look on Raging Babe or other journalists who post this. It basically puts you in the group of network fans. Not that either of them would care at this point...

The fight party excuse is real talk. Dazn was short sighted and their failure to dethrone Haymon, is the result. My family has watched damn near every pbc ppv and will continue to. I don't know if that comment was directed toward me (I did bring up the fight party point) but I was speaking from the heart. My comment wasn't about, what's the better money saver etc, it was me pointing out what dazn might have not understood when they came in so confident that they was gon strong arm the game. My uncle is in his 70's, he doesn't want to stop watching fights on cable and ppv like he has the past 40 years no matter how much we try to educate him. Therefore he doesn't give a fukk. Dazn made the mistake of prioritizing acquiring fighters and overpaying them when they should have been over paying for certain fights or even if they were one time or two time deals. They'd got waaaaaay more bang for their buck if people were biting. Like "hey al we'll give you 12 mill for THIS MATCH, hey Oscar, hey Bob etc. Yea they don't have as much control that way but they'd be shelling out money in a way that would have more of a direct instant return. They payed ggg biiiiiig money but he's not going to help them with his no name fights. I could go on and on but I'll end like this. Good deals matter when people NEED what you got or atleast really want it. Everybody and necessarily looking for a good deal just cause it's a good deal. So although dazn is a good deal. Too many don't care and there's not enough going on to change that.

It wasn't directed at you, saw it from multiple users. While it is certainly possibly to hold such fight parties it is also possible to share the cost of the annual DAZN price between the sam group of friends. If you are talking about casuals who only turn up here and there? Well the host asks them to buy the beer, the munchies, the weed, and etc... they can deal with it on an informal way just as much as with PPVs but it remains cheaper. It ain't rocket science really.

As for the other part of your comment, to me it seems liek they grew considerably and they are out there, I don't see into their walletts of course but if those stats about the highest income sports apps is anything to go by then business must be at least good for them.

Obviously they didn't target baby boomers but that's been known, as an OTT app they are targeting people who are more likely to use internet daily other than Facebook and some news portals. They do this on the premise that just like it happened with movies and music, sport broadcasting will also move to OTT apps, question is really the "how quick?" rather than "will they?". Television viewership numbers are lower by every year.
So they are playing the long game.
I can't tell how DAZN's story will end, they migh go down suddenly in a year or they might rule a big portion of US sports market in 10 years but regardless of their success rate the market is changing and nobody gonna stop that. As I said the question is only how long will it take not that if it happens or not.

U got me wrong, I'm not trying to explain why ppv parties make ppv a better deal than dazn, it's not. What I'm saying is they can't bank on people being fed up with ppv and thinking that's going to be the corner stone of their success along with over paying fighters. It's not THAT excruciating, so out of habit ppv fight parties will continue. My brother has dazn. I probably use his account more than him. I'm just saying their strategy to change the guard is not working and not on the verge of working either.
