• On the day of the fight, a couple of female city Councillors objected to having the ring girls. Promoter Dean Lonergan was forced to replace them with a dude in a suit holding up the round number. This guy was met with loud boos every time he came out between rounds. Due to this reaction, the ring girls returned halfway through the card, much to the delight of the crowd.
Damn near every fighter looks rusty at the championship level. It's part of the game, so they gotta deal with it. Fans gotta deal with an inferior product because we are watching these guys work off the rust. It is what it is.
