Sorry, it may sound disrespectful toward these bareknuckle MMA guys but imagine what a Spence or Canelo would do to them. Not all pro boxers are fit to do this shyt I admit that though.

Dunno why some ppl thought washed ass Paulie would be some champion of pro boxing in this bareknuckle shyt (and why this mattered at all). He got put away in a miserable fashion by a domestic UK level dude on his last fight more than 2 years ago, he has brittle hands, he is 38, he was always a weak puncher and he probably hasn't done much training since he retired either. Add that he has a very defensive style which usually doesn't translate well into a toughman competition like stuff like bareknuckle, hell it often doesn't go over well in pro boxing either.

I’m wondering what the purses are because I feel like they should be going after pro boxers who probably won’t sniff a title rather than meathead MMA dudes. But it kind of feels like they’re going for the take turns punching each other in the face vibe rather that skillful fighting.

They can get MMA dudes easier cause they usually get paid less than boxers plus the whole image of these shows is a lot closer to what MMA fans are used to than what boxing fans are used to. This carny, cartoonish violence with toughman competition like ethics which is somewhere halfway between WWE and boxing in marketing is appealing to more MMA fans than boxing fans. UFC was like this too and I guess many smaller fringe MMA organizations are still like this.
