Bad look for Whyte, he better hope Wilder don't see this, he gonna call him all kinds of Uncle Toms

Between this, the Golden boy fiasco and Arum's recent outburst, all black fighters should go to Haymon where they're safe. PBC is the greatest thing that ever happened to the black fighters (brown too) . Hail Al Haymon.

As a fighter, NOTHING. Aside from being from the east coast (where the fight is) He just talks good shyt. But an ortiz fight would of been a great response to those let down by that fight falling apart.

everyone keeps saying ortiz..is it because he rocked wilder in one of the rounds before getting ko'ed? i would hope thats not what you mean by great response..because he's had 3 fights after that which he has looked progressively worse

Ellerbe Would 'Love' To Make Gervonta Davis-Gary Russell Fight

By Keith Idec

LAS VEGAS – Leonard Ellerbe enjoyed reading Gary Russell Jr.’s comments about boxing Gervonta Davis.

The Mayweather Promotions CEO respects Russell’s confidence, capabilities and pedigree. Ellerbe also is certain that Davis would beat the highly skilled southpaw if the fight Russell suggested comes to fruition.

Russell told BoxingScene.com last week that if he can’t land a fight against Leo Santa Cruz that thus far has eluded him, he wants to move up from featherweight to junior lightweight to challenge Davis (Russell: Gervonta Hasn't Fought Nobody; Couldn't Deal With Me!). Russell-Davis would be a big event in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., area and is one of the most appealing options for both boxers.

“I think he’s an exceptionally talented fighter,” Ellerbe told BoxingScene.com regarding Russell. “I have a great deal of respect for him, his pops, all his brothers. They’re from the city [of Baltimore]. They can bump. [Russell is] very confident and he should be. But it’s a whole different ballgame, when you’re talking about fighting ‘Tank.’ I asked about that fight before, because ‘Tank’ asked me about that fight. ‘Tank’ wants that fight. I’m very, very confident that ‘Tank’ beats him. I wouldn’t think twice about it.”

Ellerbe and Mayweather have drawn criticism for Davis’ level of opposition since he stopped Jose Pedraza to win the IBF 130-pound championship in January 2017.

The 24-year-old Davis (21-0, 20 KOs) has defeated Liam Walsh (21-1, 14 KOs), Francisco Fonseca (24-2-1, 18 KOs), Jesus Cuellar (29-3, 22 KOs) and Hugo Ruiz (39-5, 33 KOs) by knockout or TKO since beating Pedraza (25-2, 12 KOs) by seventh-round technical knockout.

The powerful southpaw from Baltimore was supposed to face former three-division champion Abner Mares on February 9. Ruiz replaced Mares (31-3-1, 15 KOs) on 10 days’ notice because Mares suffered a detached retina in his right eye during a sparring session late in January.

Davis is expected to make another defense of his WBA “super” 130-pound championship July 27 at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore. Cuba’s Yuriorkis Gamboa (29-2, 17 KOs), a 37-year-old former champion in three divisions, is among the opponents Davis’ handlers are considering for that bout.

Russell, meanwhile, is preparing for a defense of his WBC 126-pound championship against Spain’s Kiko Martinez (39-8-2, 28 KOs). Showtime will televise the Russell-Martinez match as part of the Deontay Wilder-Dominic Breazeale undercard May 18 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Assuming he overcomes Martinez, the 30-year-old Russell, of Capital Heights, Maryland, intends to pursue a featherweight title unification fight against Santa Cruz (36-1-1, 19 KOs), who holds the WBA title. If that bout doesn’t come together, Russell is more than willing to move up four pounds to face Davis.

“I think he’s serious,” Ellerbe said. “He’s very confident. He’s an extremely talented, young fighter, who has great belief in his skill set. That’s why you make great fights like that. But I’m very, very confident in ‘Tank.’ ”

Ellerbe expressed that he, too, is serious about matching Davis against Russell, who would be, by far, the best opponent of Davis’ six-year pro career.

“Oh, most definitely,” Ellerbe said. “I would love, love, love, love, love that fight.”

Everyone keeps saying ortiz? Well i guess that means the average fan agrees with me, that THAT is the most exciting event for Joshua to have in America besides Wilder. Which would mean that IT IS a great response to the fall of the Miller fight. People see Ortiz as a very legit threat, NO ONE sees Ruiz as one. (though he has a chance as well). Like I said it's bad for Dazn

Man is the Canelo Jacobs fight only going to be on DAZN :lupe:
breh you gotta understand..for the next 10 fights or so any fight with him will be on DAZN and DAZN does not really have a partner TV channel for boxing like its does for MMA to air live or for immediate replays

Spence should leave this too cool for school shyt behind once and for all. He's talking about everything but the point.
He's talking about Arum, telling Crawford Arum this and Arum that but instead of focusing on Arum he should focus on Crawford, it was not Arum who straight up called him out in the ring, it's not Arum we want to see him fight, I don't give a fukk that he doesn't like Arum or whatever, I just want to see Crawford vs Spence.

Spence knows that Crawford is his most serious challenge, he knows it well, even acknowledged it. Saying shyt like why not take the easier route and fight Porter and then doing exactly just that won't make him seem like some cool boss, it will make him seem as another boxer who not only accepts but embraces the boxing politics which hurt this sport too much already.

Prograis looked great, Relikh was out of his depths, I thought Porgrais would beat him even stop him but still the fashion was impressive, he rendered Relikh to 0 basically. In comparison Relikh beat Barthelemy quite easy and Barthelemy just drew with Easter :mjlol: I doN't want to get too deep in triangle theories but I still think we can say for sure that Prograis is a league above these B level guys.

I expect Taylor to systematically dismantle and beat down Baranchyk and then Prograis vs Taylor will be a GREAT fight where anything can happen. A hyper-aggressive counter puncher like Prograis who's using his slippery head movement to get in position to punch and is great at pounding the body vs Taylor a classic boxer-puncher with a mean streak who also happens to be a great body puncher. It will be one of if not the best fights of 2019 in terms of levels in the ring and unpredictability.
