That's not true. They didn't compete in the same weight class @ the trials. Danny campaigned at light-welter and Bud campaigned at lightweight. Bud lost to Sadam Ali and Miguel Gonzalez (eliminated). Danny lost to Jeremy Bryan and Javier Molina (eliminated).

Berchelt-Roman May Not Land On HBO, Other Networks Surface
By Miguel Rivera
The negotiations have continued for the mandatory fight between WBC super featherweight champion Miguel "Alacran" Berchelt and challenger Miguel "Micky" Roman.
The fight was heading over to HBO, as the network has been showcasing both boxers in the last two years.
But now several other players are in the hunt to secure the fight.

A source with direct knowledge of the negotiations, has advised ESPN Deportes that Showtime is very interested in televising the fight - and the lead promoter for Berchelt-Roman have been in discussions with the network.
Showtime is not the only player. The source also indicates that Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is interested in placing that fight on ESPN+ and Eddie Hearn of Matchroom would like to place that fight on DAZN.
Berchelt vs. Roman has been ordered by the World Boxing Council, and the boxers were given additional time to finalize a deal - and they are reportedly very close to getting it done.
The fight is potentially going to land on October 13 or October 20 - and the involved promoters would like to stage the fight in the Unites States - despite two Mexican boxers being involved.
Berchelt has established himself as one of the best fighters today with victories over names like like Francisco "Bandido" Vargas, Takashi Miura, Maxwell Awuku and Jonathan Barros.
Roman became the mandatory challenger last fall, when he upset the odds by knocking out Orlando Salido in Las Vegas. At the time Salido was the mandatory challenger to the belt.
Since that bout took place, Roman (60-12, 47 KOs) has stayed busy with two more knockout wins.
He knocked out Aristides Perez in four rounds back in February, and then knocked out Michel Marcano in two rounds in June.
