He fought Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia. Although he won both fights, maybe that taste at the top level isn't that fun, where you have to dig deeper to pull out the win. You then have Errol Spence hunting you down and Terrance Crawford's arrival to the division.
I think he's hoping these guys beat each other up. He doesn't want to take his tuneup too soon, because if he does, the expectation is that he's going to have to fight "somebody."
I predict he will have ONE tuneup in 2019, late 2019 at that. "Yeah I've been rehabbing, tuneup in Sept 2019, we are coming back strong in 2020."
That's the thing about boxing when you at the top, there's always somebody after you
honestly i think the moment thurman gets the L put on his record..whether by a legit opponent or an upset L and his titles are gone..hes going to retire so he can play his wooden kazoo and eat candy 
Plus there aren’t easy fights at the top. They are all likely going the full 12 rounds.
He had to dig deep to beat Porter. He beat Danny more comfortably, but you can tell he was worried about his power damn near the entire fight (both guys were actually).
You have to beat on point the ENTIRE 12 rounds at the elite level.
I hope he’s stripped of his final belt.

Stills looks like a push to me. The left goes behind Paulie's head and then he tries to hold in for the right and Paulie is off-balance.
Exactly and its 2018 and everybody should have seen Rocky 3 by now so nikkas should know whats up.
These cats just make it bad for themselves because they not active enough. Everybody wants elite money, but not the focus and work that comes with it.
Just look at Jones vs Tarver. Even when Roy won the Heavyweight title, Tarver was at the post fight presser calling him out.
I know some people say Roy should have retired after the Ruiz fight but ego and pride was in the way.
And you can't blame either guy for fighting each other. Roy got tired of Tarver always talking and Tarver wanted to beat the #1 P4P fighter at that time.
