COTY is such a flawed award. I’m not saying it has to be perfect, but there are really minor adjustments that should have been made long ago. I just never pay attention to it.
For one, it should be clear how many battles at the minimum are required to receive it. Is it 3? Is it 4? It’s just whatever
Most importantly, why aren’t the battlers ranked? That’s the only way to determine strength of schedule. I’ve been saying this for years. For example, Chilla beating Shine earlier in the year is a good win. If there was a ranking system Shine would definitely be in the top 5 at the time. By the time Shine got to EZ, he was on a losing streak. He would probably be unranked, so the win isn’t as impressive.

Exactly. They need to have a system with rankings so its not based on reputation. Jayblac would need to have a team help him keep up with the rankings since he is the main host on Caffeine with SMACK URL. But THIS...needs to happen so we can see COTY given to someone who deserves and earns it each year. Because I do agree that a minimum set for how many battles you have a year should be clear. AND what platforms should they be on; its obvious you have to have a SMACK URL battle at the very least.
