Math tapped in with the right people in LA now but at the time he wasn’t. LA street politics is so much different than NY. It’s weird.A couple members of Krack City are active gang members who never liked Math and Math will pretty much be on their turf. I don't feel like Diz pulled their strings, some of those guys just hate him. I always references Daylyt's performance vs Math because those dudes were looking for a reason to jump on Math.
More open space means out of towers get lined up easily. Math holds his own one on one with no problem but as far as I know he doesn't break bread or feed anyone so he can't move around comfortably when there is beef.
Listen man this shyt is all a matter of opinion cuz some of these dudes y’all praise I think are super trash so it is what it isYou might be right but it doesn’t matter if it was all garbage especially on both sides
There is zero reason to talk about the content of Cassidy battles after they happen. That’s a theme now
I hate how when Cassidy battles these old mixtape heads come out the woodwork to tell us how being lyrical works and what real rap is like all we ever heard was battle rap. To them this means AB AB CD AB rhyme patterning. Doesn't seem to matter what they say as long as it is 4 bars of rhymes with an internal separate rhyme on the fourth bar within that same 2005 cadence. No matter how wack the bar is, as long as there is a couple multi's it's better to them.
What they are forgetting is we are those same fans from that era. We just kept up with the lyrical side of the culture while they didn't. I'm 35, that era made me a fan of this punchline rap. I totally respect it and am heavily informed on it.... but...
The cadence, patterns, and actual concepts of the punches have advanced amongst the punchline rappers to the point where that style is cringey to hear now.
These 'hug me you could catch a cold' type bars. When that's your bread and butter, you gotta come better than that. Idk if these guys know the term OBC. But if we've heard a concept executed 500 times since 2000. You are NOT going to get props for reusing it unless it's an extremely clever reimagining of the metaphor. And that's one of my main issues.
Also, the sing songey flow, it doesn't work in an acapella setting. I feel like I'm watching one of those disney cartoons where the note bounces along with the words at the bottom. Reminds me of Iron Solomons first return.
Luckily for Cass he literally battled the 3 worst pen guys of the top class. I would love to see a Twork or Rum Nitty in front of him. Give him one of the guys that took his style to outer space instead of these performance guys.
Math 2-1 COME AT ME
This is a good look, Lux is getting good guidance or has a good team around him. Just too bad for him he's not 10 years younger because I actually think this current era would be built for someone like him to succeed.View attachment 30534 https://allhiphop.com/news/loaded-lux-birth-the-grey-hoodie/
I don't think it matters about his age, all the guys succeeding in his lane are a good 2-5 years older than him (Griselda, Ransom, Roc Marci, 38 Spesh, RJ Payne, etc. Just lyrical rap) . There's a strong market for 35+ rap now, that wasn't necessarily there before. I think he's on the right trajectory. I doubt he'll ever blow up like mainstream, his music isn't really made for mass consumption, but he can make a good living off rap. This is a good look, Lux is getting good guidance or has a good team around him. Nah, I actually think a 25 year old version of Lux in 2021 would have a chance to be bigger than those guys, that's why I say that. I agree that he can still eat now.I don't think it matters about his age, all the guys succeeding in his lane are a good 2-5 years older than him (Griselda, Ransom, Roc Marci, 38 Spesh, RJ Payne, etc. Just lyrical rap) .
