I agree. However, once it started to go viral I started seeing a bunch of people on twitter trying to "cancel" battle rap and shytting on fans of the culture. People who mentioned that anything goes in battle rap were greeted with diatribes about how black men are trash and self-hating.



Even discussing this with my real life friends was exhausting.



Not only that, battle rap is self-policing... His next opponent would fry him relentless for being a self-hating, colorist, c00n. He would get 3 rounds of real talk and his opponent would go viral. That's why I didn't see the big deal and these people from outside the culture trying to police it without knowing anything about it was some disingenuous shyt.

In 2020 it needs a balance between profit and obscurity to be anything good

Why are you debating on twitter? People just want to be quoted. Don't be fooled into thinking anything will change just because a 1000 random people complain online. How about they find homeboy who said what offends them and get at him? Think about this logically, how can these people tear down battle rap when they don't get how it works?

I think this will help you choose your friends more wisely. When you're interacting with people who take their opinions from twitter you get what you get. It won't improve, there will always be something that these folks are complaining about. Just watch them pick up the next hot issue to be outraged. At least here we can have strong opinions without trying to make each other feel like we have power over each other.

Facts. My wife and I actually had this talk last night. About how nikkas don't really change too much with age. After a certain age, most humans pretty much stay the same personality wise for the rest of their life, barring some drastic life altering experience. If you loved socializing/partying in your teens-20s-30s more than likely you'll still like it later in life too, it's just some may have responsibilities or restrictions that prevent them in partaking like they used to.

If nikkas is corny, nikkas probably gonna be corny forever. That's usually how it goes.
