Think so? I feel like if it was just about the paper, he'd battle more strategically than he does. I think he battles nikkas in basements because he truly loves the game. But who really knows what breh motivation is.

Nah, I think it's because he needs quick money so he takes all of these battles. If it was just competition he wouldn't actually take a lot of the no names he takes. Michael Jordan was perhaps the most competitive athlete in history, but he wasn't gonna spend his time playing against random cats one on one in the park in the name of the sport.
