i was just having a conversation about real fans of battle rap. and why i wasnt impressed with the guys who came back to battle rap when mook and lux returned. i respect the mainstream fans like jay pharoah, method man, kevin durant, llyod banks, gerald mccoy, omar epps, and guys like that who was fukkin with battle rap when nobody was messing with battle rap and it was just seen as the broke rappers who couldnt make good songs. method man one of the day one fans.

not to mention that Methods Man outright said that mainstream rappers shouldn't even try to come step into battle rap, that it's the battle rappers that built that shyt up from the ground so that they can make a living. I think it was at one of Smack's events did he say that.

This is more or less true. Roc reps Baltimore but doesn't live here. I've seen him here on social media once or twice, with other nikkas like Surf, or filming videos. Maybe he did in his youth, but I could see how it looks a bit fraudulent. When Burke battled Ace and they were making fun of him for being from Hyattsville, if you’re from MD it was a hugeangle because Ace’s ends are twice as known for activity than somewhere north of Annapolis where Cave is at

It’s like Quban being from Waldorf. It’s not the hardest ends but it’s a place where a lotta people from the hood who went to college moved to so they could raise kids in peace. It’s not like these guys live in Bethesda. And I got cousins who actually live in like Anne Arundel or glen burnie or one of those outer bmore suburbs and all of em on govt assistance and deal with every day poor people shyt like that but aren’t busting guns just to do it. It’s not LIVE out there
And again, I live in Takoma park when I’m in the US and I’m not gonna be screaming at people to come find me out Northeast or Langley Park even if I’m 3-5mins away
