Lol I saw 18 mins and I’m like nah I’m cool. I’m just not a fan of Mook as a rapper whether it’s freestyles, songs, or battling and I’m cool on the idea of him rapping for 18 minutes.

Maybe tomorrow

I tried and when he started talking about fish, I realized how corny he can get.. and decided to get back to it another day. Then bumped surf’s freestyle. I bump surf shyt like twice a day. His shyt is retarded.

Certain people just rub each other the wrong way.

Math... Goodz... you could get hurt playing with those guys. All the other big names from NYC outside of Shine from the DVD era and on are entertainers first and foremost.
I can see their egos clashing, they both like bullying people.

Yo did Jimz even ask for 5 minutes from Goodz? What was up with that? I mean that wouldn't have been unreasonable right? Goodz hit him with the ring, a better punch and he would have been gushing up there. Goodz said sorry and Jimz let bygones be bygones.
I mean at least Joe Budden asked Raekwon for a fair one back in the day.

Tay Roc vs Bad Newz hitting a million views this quick is a strong statement for the art of battle rap.

These guys got on stage and put on a show, but it still felt gritty.

Bad Newz wasn't a big fan favorite prior to this. Tay Roc seemed to be on a downslide.

Didn't matter, the battle was excellent.

If you were listening hard enough, Bad Newz paid homage to Tay Roc while he was trying to kill him.
I would recommend against battlers giving each other props during battles, but in this instance it didn't feel wrong. Being the Kobe to Roc's Jordan is now worth something.

I still haven’t watched this yet

I bet RBE is going to try to book Math/Goodz some time in the future. It has RBE written all over it. These two have had some lowkey sort of tension for years. They have that "we are trying to be cordial, but don't fukk with each other" type of vibe and I'm not the only one that's picked up on it. You then see Goodz recent interview on HHIR talking about Math is fishing for a battle, etc and you know ARP probably put that on his list of battles to make.
That could be really dope

I started the morning off not liking friendly battles. Yall nikkas just made me look at it in a different light tho

Actually, whatever your opinion is...just have it. Because I don't think the battle rap community as a whole will agree on friendly battles. We don't want an event to get fukked up but yet we won't the tension of a possible fight that leads up to the battle. I think we need to register that we won't have the best of both worlds given the tempers of some of these guys in the sport/art/culture. Furthermore, you have to consider entourages jumping in with the gas station effect if some shyt goes down. I feel like some of these battle rappers don't want to get to fighting point and just rap for real whereas their peoples...they're waiting for anything to pop off. Me personally, its not that cut and dry for this whole "fukk friendly battles" shyt that some of the fans seem to want to complain about. Because them the same nikkas that get mad if a event gets shut down over a situation that pops off.

Yeah, it can be good if you flip it right to show that have prepped for your opponent well. I think it shows that you studied something about their style and not just get in the ring and kick random bars the whole round which can be annoying. But I agree, Bad Newz did it right.

Regardless, its good to see a talent like Bad Newz get some more recognition. Considering he survived a shootout and looked like he was in good shape to battle Tay Roc. And then Roc give us a solid one round performance after having not as a great of a year as we're used to seeing with him.

Math and Goodz only was cordial because they had fellow battle rap associates (Clips, DNA, Conceited) for a while but since that whole NY circle broke apart they could stop acting like they were cool.

Oddly enough, I was just thinking why Math and Goodz never went at it recently. Or never even mentioned each other too much.
I'm actually interested in seeing this match up now the more I think about it.
