Appreciate it. I just always remember not liking Surf like that earlier on when I was seeing him on URL, I thought he was ehh. Fast forward to the last 4 or so years…I been watching madd of those Surf battles…that nig is a fn monster to me now, lol. , I might be buggin…or maybe he just stepped his shyt up and evolved with the times and the more intricate writing and the wild energy in the performances and all that.Not really. His best performance is probably still pre Roc (Hitman battle).
But he was on the down slope in terms of popularity and linking with Roc definitely helped with his image and helping him to be more focused.
I think they both helped each other. There was a noticable difference in Roc's pen post-Surf though. He started punching heavier. It was very clear when he battled Rum Nitty. I remember when he said that fish tank bar and it felt like "That's a bar Surf would say".
