if i had this guy's vocabulary...

:ld:btw i know this may sound like an odd request but maybe it would be a good idea to have two separate discussion threads for this movie? one for people who loved it and one for people who hated it? this way maybe we can avoid the instigating and arguing?

:yeshrug:

You don't like defending your opinion :mjpls:

i am surprised by how many people superman and batman kill

batman is machine gunning guys through the whole movie
That was a dream sequence but he does kinda disregard the whole "no killing" idea.
In the warehouse he could have easily broke through the wall, knockout the dude with the shotty, and threw a batarang at the hands of the guy with the flames thrower but instead makes him blow up, which also kills the first guy he disarmed. This Batman is darker and colder which I loved but he kinda goes against the whole idea of Batman as a whole, hence him wanting to KILL Clark and not just get him away from the city or sum

Strangely enough I want to watch this again and I never do repeat viewings.

Same. I'm usually one and done with these pop corn flicks, until years later.

I'm especially interested in the 3 hour version tho. Wanna see what was cut.

I think it's the whole dark seid propaganda I just read. Makes lex seem a bit more palpable now. Cuz I had no clue wtf he was saying at the end. Now I'm thinking about the painting like :ohhh:

Watched it earlier, my word what a boring movie.

How on earth do you make a movie about Batman taking on Superman, a dull, tedious and excruciating affair to watch? I was waiting for the movie to pick up and it just never did. The last act with Doomsday was absolutely terrible and the movie turned into Godzilla 98.

The only thing that movie had going for it was the Lex Luthor character, who was clearly modeled on Heath Ledger's Joker and what they were trying to imitate. However Eisenberg just couldn't pull the performance off and he came across as cringeworthy. If the character was played by an actor who could also be intense on screen it would have worked and saved the movie.

Not seeing what all the hype is with Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman is about. He was no better or different than Christian Bale. The version looked better and moved better and that's about it. But performance wise, nah. Another Batman who lacks brains and just a brute.

The movie was all over the place, had storylines and characters that weren't needed in a movie called "Batman vs Superman" and you could have easily removed about 30-45 minutes. At best it's a 5/10 and that's what the first 2/3 was but once Doomsday came in it turned into loud hot :trash:. The fight between Batman vs Superman so average.

Critic reviews were spot on and I went in thinking they might have been overblown :yeshrug:.

Ok.... I wanna add another discussion point about this movie

So what did yall think about Metropolis and Gotham being relatively so close to each other?

Like you literally cold literally being in a tall building and look over and see the other city from the distance.

At one point I thought Metropolis was like a NY type city and Gotham was more of maybe Chicago

Then Maybe a NY and NJ type thing...... but damn.... this movie made it look like they were just a zip code or area code away as far as distance. No wonder Superman could get to Gotham in like 2 mins. I mean the monster was in Metropolis and in practically one "Hulk like" leap he was in Gotham:deadmanny:

Bruce from his house in Gotham taking his car and making a 15 mins trip to Lex house in Metropolis:skip:

Not shytting on it..... just found it funny they made these cities so close to each other..... Now curious how far Central City is from both or Star City and why it took a stolen file to know about them:pachaha:

And aint Smallville in Kansas? How Lex goons get Matha from Kansas to the East Coast so fast?:sas1:

Or if really they kidnapped her in Smallville and kept her at some facility there..... how Batman get from Gotham to Smallville in less than 20 mins to save her?

Remember, Lex gave her an hour to live, Sup lost about 10-15 in his interactions with Lex, then took about 5 mins to get to Gotham, and faulth Batman for about 20 mins. Nicca thats already 35-40 mins right there:skip:

This is actually a legit point, why would anyone think Superman is shooting bullets at people when he can just punch your face off? That part was a little strange.
I will say, just because the gov't knows doesn't mean it's going to be backing Supes especially if that part of
It was more about him inserting himself into a tense geo-political situation that resulted in people dying.
When the woman was giving her testimony about how the government troops rolled into her village and just started offing people after Superman took out the terrorist dude that was running the nation-state.
So Superman wasn't being blamed for actually killing people just that the unintended consequences of his actions was that people ended up dying.

on your first point i agree for the most part. thats why i said this really should have been kept as MOS2 but they got scared and threw in batman to save them. doing that and trying to focus on so many things at once, they ended up giving half ass development to every character involved instead of full development for superman and lex. hell you could argue the most developed character in the movie was the damn Wayne Ent employee :mjlol:

good point. i know people got bashed for saying hey dc is rushing things , but literally they showed you how they were rushing to hurry up and get to justice league

they really used a damn email to save time and hurry up and introduce the members :mjlol:

:dwillhuh: they "heavily foreshadowed" it to the audience. for the actual characters in that world there is no reason to form a team. bruce is going off a crazy vision that happened after a crazy nightmare. the team's formation is random as hell
My exact point :russ:
