Also, I'm still unsure of why people are saying Lex is acting like Joker. He was acting differently in front of Bruce and Clark so as to seem like he's no threat. If you look at the scene with Lois his tone is completely different.

been staying out this thread cause i dont wanna know shyt about this movie...peeped the new trailer and figured i'd pop in to see reactions and just like i thought: the majority does nothing but complain/hate lol....that's all you cats do, and then you try to hide it by saying shyt like 'i'm just being objective/honest'...no, you're just complaining and hating, cause a lot of the shyt yall are being 'objective/honest' about is made up shyt just to hate/complain lol ...

anyway, i thought the trailer was dope....it looks like the dude playing lex might do a better job than i originally thought....i like the whole cat/mouse game between sup/bat....looks like they doing ww justice, still gotta wait to see how they do flash, aquaman, etc....and i like the fact they using doomsday....he's a big enough name to attract casuals, and a big enough threat that you would need a jl to stop him, and not just superman (which is what people worry about)....also, using him leaves other bigger villains for future use in their own jl movies, i.e. darkseid, brainic, anti-monitor, black adam, etc...

i always thought grounding everything was the wrong approach for DC. their characters were always more mythic. the over the top cartoon camp serves them a lot better than it does marvel, who made their name on more grounded everyman characters.

but they started with batman and theres nothing mythic or godly about him. He should be more grounded than any hero besides maybe spiderman.

and no dc movies outside of batman have been 'grounded'.

Sometimes I think The Dark Knight is the best and worst thing to happen to comic book movies.

All this dark and gritty shyt people keep talking about. That worked because the condensed story Nolan was telling and his realistic approach.

For all the people who saw Man of Steel, it wasn't a damn thing "dark and gritty" it. They might have went overboard with that damn filter but I wouldn't call it dark/gritty. In this cinematic universe you got damn near gods doing DBZ shyt, a dude in a bat suit, an Amazonian princess, then Aquaman and Flash as well.

Like somebody already pointed out, Synder said there would be moments of levity in the film and there is nothing wrong with that.

People expecting the DC movie films to be all that different from the Marvel films are going to be disappointed. At this point the only difference will be the actors and cinematography.

It worked because BATMAN is dark and gritty and has been for damn near 30 years now

I don't get it either. It's like all of a sudden, very smart people who understand how movies are made and how storytelling works in a general sense, can't put things together because logic goes out the window with things they're passionate about succeeding or failing

Thing is this isn't like masters of the universe where studios just threw a shot in the dark not knowing what they were doing. The comic book movie genre is very profitable and has been for a long while. There is no I repeat no excuse to get this wrong, if the detractors are swarming off that trailer can you really blame them when the track record for the people behind it were responsible for MoS? Just because we are finally seeing these 2 icons on screen we should lower our standards just out of joy? What kind of skewed perspective is that?

the "we should just be grateful" argument should be banned from forum talk.

prior to 2012 we never even thought we would SEE another star wars movie, let alone a sequel to return of the jedi with the original cast returning. it was a pipe dream, a fantasy. something we all assumed had no chance of ever come to fruition. why haven't star wars fans been divided on trailers like the ones for BvS? perhaps star wars fans are just more rational and optimistic than DC fans? is that it?

is the creative and marketing team behind BvS just completely immune to criticism?
