The real reason why Bats and Supes fight

It's a Superman cult that's been spreading in the Middle East. They attack a war-torn place, Nairomi, where Superman is forbidden to go by the local government. Lois Lane is there covering the conflict and, when Superman intervenes to save her, the cult bows to him, and the Nairomian government believes Superman to have been part of their campaign and threatens retaliation against the United States government if Superman is not punished.

Superman is then called to a congress hearing in Washington, D.C. to decide his place in the world, which Lex Luthor bombs, leading to the deaths of several politicians and innocents, sowing political turmoil and leading to a global backlash against Superman. Batman is among the ones that believe Superman is out of control, while Superman is manipulated into believing Batman is behind the bombing, setting off their conflict.

Behind You
So if that spoiler is true it looks like Lex is going to have his Machiavellian scheming dialed up to a million in this flick.

Michael Shannon Reveals a Strange Change for Zod in Batman v Superman - SuperHeroHype

“I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands,” Shannon told Vulture at a screening for 99 Homes hosted by Peggy Siegal. “So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, 'Where’s Shannon? Where the fukk is he?' and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, 'Let me out of here!'” Fortunately, Shannon had his personal superhero in the “craft-service guy, who doesn’t have the best craft service,” Shannon said. “He was actually paying attention to what was going on. He came over and he opened the door for me. Otherwise I would have gotten fired.”
