watched it last night.was a good movie in my opinion, don't understand all the hate it got

It sucked. The dialogue felt jerky and forced, the acting was stiff, the jokes were stale and unfunny, the pacing in the movie was off, etc. I felt like watching became a chore.

Same, though I admit it has its problems namely this one
but overall I'd watch it again, especially since I haven't seen the UC yet. Also didn't mind Lex initially but I'm starting to see the theatrics in repeat viewings

Lex was probably the best part of the movie. He seemed like he was the most human and personable of the characters. This movie lacked character development all around imho.

The movie never provided clarity well enough on screen.
in a connection to the batman with a gun badassery and what happened to lex communicating with darkseid.
To explain why eisenberg's character was acting so off, or acting like he had been zapped by some dimensional ray.
Also, dc messed up with the idea of a dawn of justice, or making justice in a new dawn of all their mistakes in the nineties.
By not knowing how to handle the fact.
lex should have been the black tyc00n guy from the 90's dc superman cartoon.
Plus, it would have visually made lex.
feel more right for this new dark serious dc universe off that factor alone.
Instead of the Eisenberg off brand played antics we got in place.
Imo, this is the movie dc owed all its fanboys for their fukk UPS in the nineties.
Plus, since dc seems to want to meld vertigo and watchmen sentiments to their dcu. They should have went with the black lex choice and style of lex.
As it would have been better visually. Seeing as we got lex vs Supes vs Bruce wayne/batman.
Plus, would have been easier to ascertain with the poor clarity to show lex was affected by darkseid.
As it would have made any audience key into that content no matter the level of clarity on film.
All because the striking visual and audio of lex being black and being seemingly aloof.
The audience would have searched and keyed into that explanation..regardless of the level of clarity of the scene that explained it.
So dc still messed up because they believe intently on
re-establishing the campy nonsense of the time.
when every six months they added two to three super hero god level tier powers to superman from 1940-1960+.
Including the fact that superman has thwarted the white lex's plans and scheme to kill and actually killed superman.
Where this superman created disconnect to the point any and everyone of our Gen has no interest for Supes in real time.
as a real draw past just general interest, and the respect every superhero is built off of superman and the golden age.
Dc's inability to recognize this.
Plus, inability to really create a new superman.
who is not shackled to this campy god level tier ideal of superman.
That the lack of convincability of Eisenberg visually incomparison to Supes and Bruce/batleck on screen.
Including the fact the audience has to stomach batleck on screen is to much visual confusion and lack of clarity to overcome.
in just simple visual aesthetics and semantics just off gp to begin with.

The fact this movie did not use key superman powers consistently like xray vision hurt it as well.
As, well as the fact it should be a pre-req that we get the CGI Supes uses xray vision on batleck.
It was as bad as the lack of spidey sense in the Spiderman franchise films.
When it should be a component used and exercised on film way more.
Just more wb short sightedness or over thinking where they don't understand what should be a Supes core and what should not.
They did a good job of explaining why Supes is crazy for Lois and why he is so down for her and I appreciated that the most out of these series of films.
That helps the Supes in this be the best superman on film and in comics I encountered voluntarily.
I happen to like this superman because they explained why he is that way.
Plus, was not campy like the other live action or film adapted superman that we have been treated to over the years.
Which is why they killed him because they want to always get back to the campy 40-60's Supes.

That's the advice tho, you can take on this burden but don't do it because you feel you HAVE to.
