But how does "not what I want to see" = bad?

It wasn't what I wanted to see. However, I thought they executed it well imo. I like the idea that these characters actually get to improve in future movies instead of being ready made characters. This allows an arc. We saw hyper violent angry Batman....now he'll evolve.

If this was the only movie ever made with these characters I get it. There is far more story to tell.
I think the problem is that this wasn't the introduction to these characters....not even close. This movie was telling the stories of an already established Batman and an already established Superman. That's both established both within the world they inhabit and also established to the audience. This is a Superman who has already seen numerous battles while wearing the cape...this is a Batman who is a grizzled veteran. The only evolution that we should be seeing is in their ability to adapt to OTHER superhero methods than their own. If you're telling me that their own superhero methods are still evolving when they're supposed to be defined already....then that's poor storytelling. Neither of these characters should be trying to evolve into being better heroes...they're already supposed to be the better heroes.

Batman changed for the worst because of Superman (his world is rocked during the introduction of the Superman/double meaning. He then changed again(for the better) because of Superman. Superman is 18 months on the job, not 20 years like Batman.

This article is a good read.

On Batman, they imply he changed because of Superman both times but we never saw who he was before and not much after that really let's us know that a meaningful change happened.

Superman is just a year and a half in timeline wise but he is 2 movies deep story wise. If after 2 movies you haven't gotten your characters personality to where you want him you are a piss poor storyteller. At some point you have to accept he is who Snyder wants him to be and either like it or not. I don't but that's just me.

People talk about dc and marvel, shyt If anything fox is the closest to marvel right now. Think about it. Their universe started with: xmen first class which was a great movie. The wolverine was a good movie. Days of future past was a great movie. Deadpool was a good movie. And apocalypse looks like its going to be a good movie. Yea fantastic four may be bad but they might pop up somewhere down the line . and fox has access to galactys and Dr doom. Now look at that universe. Its been set for years and nobody talks about it. Even fox has they shyt together. If you wanna compare somebody to marvel they'll be the ones i will do. Dc is in third place they not even in 2nd place right now

Word. The first two X-Men movies were good for the time. They fukked up with X3 and Woverine Origins but otherwise they make good movies. Everything since First Class has been good and they changed the game with Deadpool. They are feeding us well.

I meant that as a figure of speech but I can show you why marvels quality over DC is an illusion and this is coming from a person who enjoys all comicbook related material.
I don't think anyone can deny that the DC Animated universe shyts on Marvel's. Now when it comes to the cinematic and comic book universes, that's where arguments can be had.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I chalked it up to that with Man Of Steel because a lot of these same excuses were getting made about that movie:snoop:....So I gave the flaws in that a pass saying "Maybe folks are right, maybe he is still finding himself:jbhmm:?"...How many movies are we supposed to give the benefit of the doubt?Especially when theres another large group of fans who make the point "This isn't the same Superman your used to,its a new take, get over it".....So which is it?is it a new take and we should accept him for who he is,or should we be patient and wait for this big payoff of Supermans "growth":comeon:...After sacrificing himself for a world who treated him like a criminal and turned him over to random aliens in the first movie, shouldnt the growth have been complete?

This seems like regression somewhat?SUperman like "fukk this shyt:camby:".....Showing up to scenes where people in trouble with the ":beli:" face....But of course he sacrifices himself at the end of Bvs too....So should we expect a moody Superman throughout these movies?,some days he don't feel like helping people off they rooftops, next minute he's ready to die for the world:pachaha:?

Actually, in the first OG superman, Jor El left a database of knowledge. superman actually went away to learn and grow.

In MOS, he didn't get any of that. Zod told superman more about krypton than is own daddy.

MOS had a good origins concept but it was half ass executed. :snoop:

Superman had no identity. It seems like all Jor El told superman is "that symbol means hope" and "you'll be a god to them".
