To this day I still can't get over how dumb they made Thanos. Bond villain status dumb. Acquired the ultimate power just do do some shyt he didn't even need to do anymore with the power he had. Leaving the people who opposed him alive so in the future they can possibly hatch a plan to stop him. Leaving portions of his quest to his incompetent minions when after Loki failed in The Avengers he said he'd do it himself.
The fact that he was well acted doesn't change all the dumb stuff he did.

So like....
Even though he did the snap and significantly changed the entire scale of the war and winning it.
If you go back and look at him, the power to generate all of that took practically EVERYTHING out of him. Not to mention he had a big ass AXE in his chest that was almost a fatal attack.
Dude literally was staggering out of the fight and if we being honest.... with a fresh Thor right there in front of him (who wasn’t by any means damaged or tired just in shock).
If Thanos would’ve stayed a moment longer, everything he accomplished would’ve been undone or at worst he’d been killed by Thor.
So he had to high tail it out, he couldn’t fukk around and stay any longer, his ego ain’t that big.
Even in the final shot of him, he looked like he’d been through hell and was trynna recover.

Not really Thanos is the most powerful being in the galaxy he was getting the stones one way or another and with them he is unstoppable. Nothing short of a deus ex is beating him and in universe why should he? Other than thor who basically snuck him the avengers pose literally 0 threat. And loki wasnt one of his trusted black order they had a common interest and loki fukked up. The other told him he was fukked.
Thanos is even like that in the comics... he is very single minded...
Power is just a means to an end....
Notice in the movie he could have easily killed the avengers but that wasn't his purpose that wasn't part of the plan all he cared about was his goal...

Na.... first of all, the Russo's confirmed that in the first place the only reason he even got stabbed like that cuz he didnt know what Thor had or was comming at him and ego wise he thought it was gonna be at best
When he got stabbed.... you saw how much pain he was in and he could barely breath yet alone spit his words out. (Timestamped)
Then Thor processed to push that axe even further in his chest. If we keeping it real. If Thor didnt let his anger get to him and just reacted quicker, he could've EASILY killed Thanos right there even with NOT going for his head, but he wanted to make him suffer and feel the pain while look him in the eye.
Once Thanos snapped (Timestamped)
You see he was STILL fukk UP with the axe in his chest, he made the smart move to just get the fukk out of there before he's attacked again before he had the chance to fully recoup.
Also, I think the Russo has said him sitting down at the end might have been a time jump and some years later..... I will look for that but I could've sworn its confirmed that thats not like immediately when he left

In the trailer it was a timeskip. After he snapped to the plabet with the sunset the dude as I said was walking gingerly and sat down like he ran a mile. He took a while to compose himself because he got stabbed sure but after that he said you should have went for the head and looked completely fine.
